sometimes injuries just happen and it does'nt matter how many preventive measures you take. broken hands and wrists from striking are usually caused by flawed technique, improper closure of the fist, or just plain bad luck. you could ingest all of the calcium and Glucosomine in the world and still end the day with a bone or tendon/ligament injury. any injury that is thought to be severe should always be looked at by a professional before continuing with training. rehabilitation follows and then you're back in the gym doing everything you used to do. as for diet, just make sure that its complete and your covering all the bases. you can then supplement with one of the many joint formulas that contain Glucosomine and if you find that your diet lacks calcium you can supplement that as well.

Glucosamine and Chondroiton are better if your joints tighten up on you due to training. I used to get really stiff knees from kickboxing full time, and the Glucosamine and Chondroiton stopped that.

But it won't heal joints that are broken down, they're more a supplement for your joints to stay lubricated.

And it does work well for that purpose.

supplements are not going to protect you from breaking bones and screwing up joints. its foolish to even entertain that thought. at most they will help maintain a healthy joint or help heal a worn one. they will do nothing to protect you from trauma incured while actually fighting.

Yuck. I wouldn't wait a month to eat tuna, no matter how much vinegar I put in it.

I think Glucosamine and Chondroiting are great. Also, Omega-3 oils are also good for your joints...not to mention cholesterol. Somebody said Cider/Vinegar...all good too. Walmart sells 300 caps of 1000mg Omega 3's for 10 bucks. Knox Nutra-Joint is good stuff. Or just buy plain gelatin and mix it in a drink. Gelatin is made up of ground up cartilage...it's probably the cheapest alternative.
