It isn't sugar in and of itself. It's this type of ingredient many sugary things have called.........High Fructose Corn-Syrup. It's the Devil.

A former kickboxing champ and founder of the weight loss program called Ultimate Body-Shaping Course (UBC) starts his book out perfectly with this statement:

"Nothing you do in this course will derail your success faster than the consumption of sugar, namely High Fructose Corn-Syrup. You must cut this completely out of your diet except on your cheat days if you follow the program to the letter."

yogurt is not naturally overflowing with sugar. Companies add sugar to many varieties to make them taste better. its as simple as reading the nutritional facts, some yogurts such as "Breyers Fruit on the Bottom" have as much as 40 grams of sugar while a plain yogurt will have half that amount. best bet, buy plain yogurt and add your own fruit.

high fructose corn syrup is the cheapest form of sugar that companies can use. as a fuel for the body it burns dirty, has been thought to actually make you fat and increases the chance of diabetes. its just bad for you and is best avoided at all costs.

there is plenty of companies that make yogurt without all the crappy sugar. try Stonyfields. there's always going to be sugar but it does'nt have to be high fructose corn syrup.

The yogurt I buy is just flavoured with fruit and has no added sugar. But these guys are right -- if you're serious about losing weight, anything containing high fructose corn syrup has to go in the garbage.
