Head Shavers Unite!
I've been an avid head shaver for the last 6 years, mostly because I have this disgusting cowlick that makes my hair look like I went through a car-wash, no matter how I styled it.
So about 6 years ago, I said hell with it, I'm just gonna keep it simple and take and keep it all off. I love it!
Started with a simple bic razor and clippers, and now I have a 5 blade Schick razor that I use to keep it close to baby bottom smooth as I can.
I debated waxing once because my hair grows back in the blink of an eye. But a girl friend of mine who's a hair dresser said that doesent work, just keep shaving either everyday or a couple times week.
Any head shaving tips for you avid head shavers out there? Any tricks to keep it clean, not have to shave as much etc????

I just clip mine down to about 1/10th of an inch. Shaving would be way to much trouble in my opinion.

I shaved mine once and my GF at the time said my head had the wrong shape to be shaved.

In general, I'm cursed with terrible bone structure, and my skull is no exception. Back in the days when I was touring in bands, I kept my head shaved. No one ever told me it looked good on me, because it didn't.
But now I'm broke as hell and needing a haircut, and I'm trying to decide what to do:
- Spend the money (that I should probably spend on food) to have my hair expertly cut by the chick I've been going to for ten years who always does a great job and makes me look good, even though it comes out to about fifty bucks,
- Spin the wheel at some $10 barber shop with some joker who doesn't get my thick, wavy hair and weirdly shaped head who will end up doing a terrible job, or
- Drop $20 on a pair of clippers and just buzz it all off, and stop worrying about being pretty. If nothing else, it makes me look like a badass.

Save the money and shave your head. I have a round head and at the gym they call me BJ Penn's Little brother, so i guess round heads are well suited for baldness.
But think of it this way.
--With a shaved head, you don't have to worry about combing/styling etc your hair in the morning
---During workouts, you don't have nappy dripping sweat hair getting in the way
--You look like an ex-con or a military guys, so people won't mess with you
--of course as you said, the bookoo money you save on barbers who may mess up your head worse!
Lol.
Me, i was made fun of all my life about my cowlick. They used to call me football head in school and it damaged me my whole life. Then my daughters used to make fun of my funky hairstyle cause again casue of the cowlick.
So 6 years ago, i took the liberating step of chopping it all off. Now i look a cross between BJ Penn and Dana White!

Screw shaving it. I did it for a short time, way too much effort. Buzzing is the way to go.

Round heads are actually the best heads to keep shaved. I have more of a pointy knobby head, so when I shave it I'm all ears and nose.

I spent about six years with a shaved head, mostly without my consent I might add, and now....I might go six months before I decide to even trim it. The one time that I truely had what I could call long hair is when I was in Afghanistan and got to grow it and my beard out long. Other than that, it was all skin.
Like some of you guys have said, not everyone has the bone structure thats conducive to having a shaved head. It just doesnt look good on some people no matter what they do. People like Dana White...it just looks natural for him to have a shaved head. People like Micheal Rosenbahm (played lex luther on smallville on T.V.) looks natural with a shaved head. People like that, after you see them with no hair, actually look goofy with hair.

If you don't mind looking like one of lifes rejects you could get a mohawk, it looks good and is sort of half an half. (Just kidding)
I shave but only because my hairs receding. All ears and nose. If some magic regain or something occured, I'd go back to long floppy hair.

i have had buzzcuts since i was a kid. every year at the start of summer my grandfather would get out the clippers. its something that stuck with me and i still do it today but i don't use a guard anymore. i have done the shaving thing a few times as well but its just too much work and razors are not cheap. sometimes i do get lazy and it grows out some and thats when i have a mohawk until i get sick of shaving around that and then i shave it all off again. i hate having hair around my ears more than anything.
