I use overpriced DSL. I got suckered into getting the more expensive version. Then apparently I signed a one year contract. BOO!!! Oh well, its not that bad really. Like 27 bucks, cheaper than Roadrunner and faster than 56k.

We were on ISDN at my office and it got sooooo bad, it was slower than dial up. I was sending snapshots of speedtests to our IT department that were usually around 6 kbps. They finally got the hint after about 100 of those and me saying I was going home to use my cable connection, and got us a T1.

lol, I remember the first computer I went online with was an Atari 800, with a 300 baud modem. Back then they didn´t have the net, only bbs´s or Compuserve and GEnie. Man.. i used to wait like 4 hours for a file, the size of 300K.

I've been on DSL for 6 months now after a being on 56K. Man, I wouldn't want to go back to 56K.
I'm also in the process of getting a notebook for use with Wi-Fi, but my technological know-how isn't that great so I'm kind of worried about how its all going to fall into place. I know I'm going to need a router as well.
Anyone else with Wi-Fi give me any tips on setting it up?

Lol.. I had that one too.. infact I had all the Atari´s.. 400, 800, 800xl, 130XE, and ST.
People didn´t even know the normal XE(not the 130xe) was a full Atari PC, they just used to play games on, because it had the Game Console look.

56k is awful... I agree. I lived in a dorm for a while with a T3 connection, after that... 56k isn't an option. All the DSL in this area is a joke. Maybe 2-3 times as fast as dial up. Sometimes worse. I used DSL out of state years ago and it was great. Anyways, I'm cable now and have WI FI, but I own nothing wireless and hardly anybody brings their laptaps... but it's available nonetheless.

How much do you pay? My cable comp offers 5MB, but its like $70 a month! So I stick with 1.5MB for $35.
