- Keep a stern face (Hard for me cause I am very quick to laugh and smile)
- Don't go off on wild lies. You could get trapped.
Errr..as long as you keep a serious tone/face, there is no reason you shouldn't be a great liar.
THAT IS, of course, if you think of a good LIE.

I think first and foremost you have to be a egocentric, selfish bastard to be able to lie convincingly all the time.
If you don't have that, I think you're more likely to start blinking/twitching/grabbing your nose/etc., when you're lying.
You have the right to lie, man. Because everyone else is **** compared to you.

DSM IV guidelines:
failure to conform to social norms with respect to lawful behaviors as indicated by repeatedly performing acts that are grounds for arrest
deceitfulness, as indicated by repeated lying, use of aliases, or conning others for personal profit or pleasure
impulsivity or failure to plan ahead
irritability and aggressiveness, as indicated by repeated physical fights or assaults
reckless disregard for safety of self or others
consistent irresponsibility, as indicated by repeated failure to sustain steady work or honor financial obligations
lack of remorse, as indicated by being indifferent to or rationalizing having hurt, mistreated, or stolen from another
Which is why I disagree with using DSM guidelines because they are too easy to diagnose people with.. here are some of the more logical mostly externalizing symptoms:
Persistent lying or stealing
Recurring difficulties with the law
Tendency to violate the rights of others (property, physical, sexual, emotional, legal)
Aggressive, often violent behavior; prone to getting involved in fights
Inability to keep a job
A persistent agitated or depressed feeling (dysphoria)
Inability to tolerate boredom
Disregard for the safety of self or others
A childhood diagnosis of conduct disorders
Lack of remorse for hurting others
Superficial wit and charm
Impulsiveness
A sense of extreme entitlement
Inability to make or keep friends
Lack of guilt
Recklessness, impulsivity
People who have antisocial personality disorder often experience difficulties with authority figures.
So yeah, don't take up antisocial/sociopathia for a hobby.

Just maintain eye-contact and don't fidget or stutter. People tend to look up and to the left when they lie. They tend to look down and to the right when they are trying to remember something. So, maintaining eye-contact leaves a mystery. Are you remembering or is your creative mind coming up with a "fast one" on the fly? It's all in the eyes and body language.

Re-adjust the way you think about things until what you say is the truth. This will take a long time at first but eventually it will become second nature:
"Do you love me?"
"I love you" (Because I want to have sex with you. Not making any promises about tommorow, life is complex).
"Why do you want to join this company"
"Because I really believe in xxxx etc etc" (Because anything that makes me money is worth believing in).
"Has crime gone down with your government?"
"According to these statistics xxxx etc we can clearly see less crime." (Because these statistics aren't just a meaningless bunch of cherry picked data. Any data is baised this is as good as any I'm sure. I believe in what I'm doing, any one who works for my party must be the most honest source of data.)
In effect your only lying to yourself. And even then your not really lying, just letting other stuff dictate what you believe.

iv encountered my fair share of liars.
the worst liars are my sister, old andy from the bowling club and graham aka "billy liar".
my sister is the worst liar as in her face gives the game away right fromt he start, when she lies she pouts and sticks her lips out, its like some kind of way that she tries to mask the lies she is telling by tensing her face.
Old andy from the bowling club must be 345. he has been as i will refer to as "worked all his days" as a butcher who made the best curry pies in scotland, a singer who sang in front of 300,000 people, a musician who can play 14 instruments, a chip shop owner all his days, a painter and decorator, a publican, a ju jitsu expert (when i asked what his fave technique is he said all of them), a plumber, retraunt owner, millionaire and lots more that i cant think of right now.
But most courageous liar award goes to Graham AKA "Billy Liar", he claims to have been a "casual" in a football holligan ring where he shot a policeman, the fastest lap around knockhill racing track, the drummer in LED ZEPPLIN, he sparred for ricky hatton and his corner through the towel in as graham was to hard on him, east of scotland pool champion ( i destroyed him 4-0), east of scotland snooker champion (again destroyed), The Uk's qucikest tyre fitter, bouncer who saw his bouncer friend get shot with a crossbow and iv likly forgotten some of the other garbage he has told me.
so i guess then bull some things.
1. Dont try to mask your lies by concentrating to hard on concealing the lies.
2. dont say "to be honest"
3. Dont tell lies that can be proved wrong
4. Dont tell to many
5. when in doubt argue black was white if your cornered/
6. and most importantly if its your girlfriend your lying to, just say " right fine then dont believe me.. suit yourself, you obviously dont trust me." +10 bonus points.

I lie in the ring.
First, I convince my opponent of their dominance.
Second, I convince them of mine. (I call this "the whip lash")
Both of which are balled faced lies, especially the second.
The second is the more difficult. Remember, its only a lie.
You don't have to be dominant, you only have to be skillful in your lie.
I did make the statement of having a steel knuckle under my glove once. Not really, that was a lie, but wow what a psychological advantage that would be.
