Chris Benoit found dead
Was flipping through channel until i got to Battleground and saw Vince McMahon on the tv. Knowing his character is supposed to be "dead" i knew something was up. Sadly Chris Benoit, his wife, and his son, were all found dead at their home in GA. I haven't followed pro wrestling for a long time, but Benoit was one of my favorites, which is why i'm posting this. I was always a fan of the Four Horsemen, so i loved when he became a member of the reformed group. It strikes me as odd that Eddie and him died so close together. Anyways, i always loved his character. A man of few words(those are hard to find in pro wrestling) who always put on a great performance. One of the most memorable moments i have of WCW is Chris Benoit doing his patented flying headbutt off the top of the 20 ft. steel cage.

Oh my god.
I'm not a fan of pro wrestling anymore either -- haven't been for about 20 years. But as a Canadian I've got a history of watching Stampede Wrestling out of Calgary, which was the organization built by Stu Hart who trained his famous sons and a bunch of other guys, like Benoit. I've been following him since I was about 12, and this is a heartbreaker.
My first thought of course, was that it was another steroid-related heart problem. But his wife and son too? Awful.
It's weird to think that most of my favourite pro wrestlers are either dead or close to it, and most of them aren't even 50 yet.

I didn't find anything about this on Yahoo, Google, CNN.com, or MSNBC. Does anyone have a link besides WWE.com?

Wow that is really odd. I wonder if it was something in their water or maybe food they had eaten. Carbon Monoxide kills because it displaces oxygen so it wouldn't be causing people to vomit up blood by itself.
I always liked Benoit although I am nothing more then a casual observer of wrestling these days.

I must say RAW tonight was fantastic. They did a great job of highlighting Benoit's career and allowing the people who knew him best to talk about him. I remember when Eddie Guerrero died i watched a tribute episode about him(ironically the last time i watched WWE). I felt like although the things the wrestlers were saying about him were likely true, the emotion felt forced. The fact that this only happened this afternoon imo caught everyone off guard. The responces from his peers seemed a lot more genuine and heart felt. I've never seen so many grown men reduced to tears, and be so comfortable doing so. Chris Benoit was obviously the "big brother" to a lot of these guys. I've always been prone to like guys like Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko(my two favorite WCW fighters) who put the emphasis more on technique than theatrics.

If it's a murder suicide, I don't feel bad for him at all. If this turns out to be true, f*** Chris Benoit and RIP to his son and wife.
