B.s.l.
Breed Specific Legislation. Basically the banning of "dangerous" dogs. Mostly targeted at American Pitbull Terriers. I cant even begin to tell people how wrong this is. The myths about pitbulls are so over dramatised its scary. Anyway , just wanted to say that if you have a chance to vote on BSL in your community i would beg you to take the time and vote NO. You never know what breed of dog may be next. Here are som vids you may or may not want to watch. **WARNING** These vids may not be easy to watch for some people as they were not easy for me to watch at all , but i feel that they are important.

Those video's really kind of made me mad.
Pit bulls are aggressive by nature. It's not an ordinary dog, it was bred to fight bulls. A bunch of cute pictures with family that it is protective of doesn't change anything.
There are endless amounts of stories where pit bulls kill their owners, and even small children.
I don't support the killing of a breed of animals however. Now its pit bull, next its rottweiler, then everything but a lap dog (which are the most b*thcy of them all)

Pitbulls were not bred to be aggressive towards humans. In fact if you read a little bit you will find that pits that displayed human aggression were often killed by the breeder to breed that trait out. They were bred to fight other dogs , not as attack dogs or even guard dogs.
There are just as many endless stories of other breeds killing children and family members. You can starve and beat any dog and it will turn aggressive. Pitbulls are NOT aggressive dogs by nature.

Its this type of ignorance that brings about BSL.
To kill an adult a dog can't be so starved and beat.
Also if you would have read my post you would of caught that I am against BSL.

A pitbull terrier is like any other dog. If you treat it kindly and love it from the time you get it, it will be the most loyal and loving dog.
Bcguy is right, if you misstreat any animal, not just a dog, it will become aggressive and attack. Thats how many of the pitbull owners treat them. They beat and starve them and train them inorder to get them very aggressive so they can fight them. Many of them used to mix gunpowder in with their dog food due to the fact that it gave them a constantly irritated stomache and made them constantly mad and aggressive thus making a better fighting dog. People that treat animals like this have no soul in my opinion.
Passing legislation against specific breeds of dogs is a knee-jerk reaction that is done out of ignorance and fear.

There are many dogs that are "aggressive". Hell, I wouldnt own a dalmation if you paid me. Those are some of the most ill-tempered and mean dogs Ive ever been around. Now, that is only based on my experiences and Im sure there will be many more people say they are very loving and nice dogs. Many people think that rottwielers are mean and dangers and thats not so either. The same with the chow, the presicanarian, or the german shepherd. Its all in how the dog is treated, cared for, and trained.
Saying that a dog, based only on its breed, is inherantly dangerous and is more apt to attack and kill someone is almost the same as saying that one ethnic group of humans is more apt to commit crimes and are inherantly more dangerous based only on their ancestry and their "breed".

I own a dalmation crossed with a lab. Very smart dog but it has an attitude. It can be very moody and realy nice. And i agree with your second paragraph. Couldnt of said it better myself lol.
