Arguably the best slugger in Baseball History Babe Ruth died 59 years ago today.

An unknown fact about Ruth, that in his day and age of segregation and racism, Ruth reached out and wanted to be challenged by Negro League Pitchings best and hittings best.

Ruth was warned multiple times in his career not to cohort with "negroes". But Ruth once said : "If I am truly the best as all of you knuckleheads say I am? I want to play against the best and some of them are in the Negro Leagues!"

Ruth was not popular for that position in his day, but because he was "The Babe" it was accepted by the powers that be.

Anyway.

RIP Babe Ruth! You'd be proud of where your team is today 18 championships later!

Truly, the guy was outta shape and lived life to the full, and is revered as a god by those who follow this sport (coughs its cricket cough cough)

Full respect to the man, if only we could get away with it in everybody life.

The Babe is a baseball god. He is easily the most well known baseball player of all time. RIP George Herman Ruth.
