Motorsports.. what's your cup of tea?
I am still mad at speedvision (renamed Speed channel) for getting rid of the World Rally Championship and NEVER showing MotoGP events. Those are my favorites, you cant beat the thrill of watching 'sideways racing' in cars that are pretty much street legal, nor can anything match the nature of MotoGP. A shame Daijiro Kato was killed on Suzuka Circuit in 2003, Twin Ring Motegi just isnt the same..
.. so speed channel, get rid of all of the nascar overload and show us some better motorsports!!

Personally, I prefer dirt track racing. Sprint Cars and Late Models. I really like to watch the World of Outlaws. They used to play them on standard cable a lot, but very rarely anymore. Kinda Bums.

If you wish to, you can place a bet on the next Nascar event here: http://www.fightforum.com/showthread.php?t=1307
I sometimes watch Formula 1.

Dude I'm a MotoGP FREAK!!!!
I was just at Laguna Seca for their return to the states. It was bad ass, I was there 4 days. I talked to Colin Edwards for like 1/2 hour, met Valentino, Nicky, Shinya Nakano, Loris Capirossi, and Marco Melandri. And a bunch of AMA boys. I have pretty much every GP for the last 5 years, and a bunch of old 500cc days. I'm suppose to go to Holland for Assen next year, but I think I may go to Phillip Island instead.
I was suppose to race this year in AFM, I did a bunch of track days at ThunderHill and Infinion the last couple years. I was at the point where I could ride the pace of the top 10 guys in the supersport class, and everything was going good until someone robbed me. I walked outside one morning only to find my little trailer was gone, normally I don't have my equipment in there, but I was going to the Track that weekend so i left tools ($700+), two sets of racing slicks ($600), Front and rear stand ($300), leathers ($700), two Helmets ($575 + $350), plus 10 gallons of very expensive fuel. The one good thing was my track bike (GSXR600) was in the garage. But I wrecked that bike big time 3 weeks later at ThunderHill trying to get some laps on old tires in. Lowsided at about 90mph going into a corner too hot, the bike and I slid and slid and slid, until we hit the some nasty bumps in the dirt off the track that sent both the bike and myself through the air. I lived (broken bones in right hand, two cracked ribs, and a really sore knee), the bike was not so lucky.
Now I'm working my way back out of debt, to do it all over again. Just need to sell my street bike (CBR929) to buy another track bike.

I suggest getting a Kawisaki EX500 or a Suzuki SV650. They are both great starter bikes, and can be found cheap. Most people try to get a liter bike (1000cc) for their first bike, but the truth is you will never be a faster rider from learning on a 1000cc, than you would if you learn on a 250-600cc machine. It teaches you how to carry more corner speed. I use to pass so many people riding 1000cc bikes at the race track with a 600. Even on the straight aways since the 600 got into and out of corners quicker. By your self a SV650 and have a blast, I still beg my friend to let me ride his SV650 cause its such a hoot. Really smooth and tame torque and power, gives you so much confidence.
I'm actually thinking of buying a Suzuki SV-650 as my next track bike, so much cheaper, easy to work on, looks good with race plastics, easy on tires, and one of the easiest bikes to get into racing.

I don't really watch racing, but I always liked the idea of endurance races. 24 hours at Le Mans.
I'm a Porsche fan.

Qualifying for the Japan GP is in.. sadly Rossi did less than stellar, but with his performances this year I still think he can overcome. Your boy Capirossi DID set a new record though
Leading qualifiers:
1. Loris Capirossi (Italy) Ducati 1:46.363 (NEW RECORD)
2. John Hopkins (United States) Suzuki 1:46.861
3. Marco Melandri (Italy) Honda 1:46.867
4. Makoto Tamada (Japan) Honda 1:47.043
5. Max Biaggi (Italy) Honda 1:47.089
6. Nicky Hayden (United States) Honda 1:47.166
7. Sete Gibernau (Spain) Honda 1:47.168
8. Kenny Roberts Jr. (United States) Suzuki 1:47.257
9. Carlos Checa (Spain) Ducati 1:47.323
10. Alex Barros (Brazil) Honda 1:47.562

Nascar's lost a lot of it's appeal to me. Don't get me wrong, I still watch and like it and all. Since Dale, Sr's passed away...it's just not the same for me. Also, I am sick of seeing a gazillion Roush and Hendricks cars. Those guys don't race for their titles, they buy them. Their equipment and crews are all elite. The smaller guys don't have a very good chance at all. Nascar should mandate that everyone uses the exact same equipment(make, model, specs, the whole nine yards). It's more like RoushCar than NasCar anymore...kinda blows. I pretty much root for everyone that's not on one of those teams. Thank God that Smoke's been doing well this year.

i have never liked Nascar. to me the cars all look the same. they don't resemble the factory cars at all. its not like it used to be back in the 60's when guys actually started with cars that came from the factory. i do appreciate the technology that goes into them. to me they are just too perfect.
