Question regarding image!
Couple days ago I watched a documentary on Cuban boxers.
Heavyweight contender Solis was in the redlight district and stuff for, as they say, the image.
Do you prefer good guys or bad boys to be champs? What's better? A gentleman or a psychotic maniac?
I soon have my first pro fight and I need to know in what direction to make proper adjustments. I can act pretty well, so ...?

Well personally I like and respect guys like GSP a hell of a lot more than guys like Baroni for example.
What does your heart tell you to do Bull?

My heart tells me to always do the exact opposite of what people are expecting me to do. Therefore, I will always shock.
If my early fights last longer than a round, I won't sit down: I will walk around in the ring just like Oliver McCall did (without the crying, though) - and I will scream "yo're gonna get it now" - if that won't make them crap their pants, I don't know what will.

I like the CroCop routine: Walk around with one hand up, chin slightly down. eyes looking up toward the back of the audience. You know, the "I just killed someone and I'm gonna do it again" look on your face. It commands respect.

Bad boys are exiting and draw big crowds but i feel most of the time they fall prey to "the circle of life". Meaning they don't hold the belt long and a quiet fish in the pond usually shuts them up. They run their mouth so long and so hard, fighters in their weight class build up an inner hatred for him and use that for fuel for training, one of them eventually takes the bad boy down a notch.
For instance, Mike Tyson. He was exciting for a small time then was taken off the pedestal and has never returned.
Take Matt Hughes, when he first got the belt he was somewhat humble. The more belt defences he attained the cockier he was. Then GSP took him off his pedestal.
Matt Serra is running his mouth like there is no tomorrow, he will not have the belt long IMO. Same with Florian, if he gets the belt it won't be for long.
Now take the stereo typical "poster boy". Clean cut look, solid fight skills. They tend to hold the belt longer and they draw crowds just as well as the bad boy. IMO probably more because you have the naysayers coming to the fight saying "this time hes' goin down" then you have the bandwagon coming to the fight ranting that they are true fans of this clean cut fighter. And those two groups are on top of the true fans who have been watching this fighter for years.
Now we have poster boys, Franklin, Silva, GSP. GSP is the only one IMO that does not fit into my theory. He was more than likely the best poster boy and he got caught. However, Franklin and Silva are both very proffessional and highly respected.
We can debate this until we are blue in the face.
So, in summary what I am saying is.......Always maintain a proffessional demeanor. If you get your azz whipped, admit it don't make excuses. If you whip your opponents azzz, don't humiliate him in the post fight interviews and such. He worked hard just like you to get to that fight.
Just be professional and mature.

At the end of the round I would not be intimidated by some one who wont sit down. To me that is someone who does not have inner confidence and is trying to scare me because he knows I have a chance to beat him.
I would be intimidated by the guy who ends the round by giving me a swollen face.
Also, I think it is more intimidating when a fighter can change attitude at the drop of a hat. Bell rings....all animal for the round. Bell rings to end round......total calm, sit down let your corner advise you and fix your face. Bell rings right back to 100% animal.
Keep going until you opponent breaks.
Good luck Bull!!!!!!!!!!!
