Default I Walked out of Cloverfield

Sorry. I walked out of this movie 1 hour in. Whatever idiot thought it was a good idea to have the whole movie filmed by Camcorder in POV format is stupid. The damn movie makes your head hurt.

After the hour, I simply walked out. I just couldnt take it. The story was whack, the freakin screen is bouncing around up and down and diagonally when the action parts happened because this guy is holding his camcorder.

The movie plain sucked and made me sick.

Kinda reminds me of when I walked out on the Godzilla remake. I wanted to shoot myself in the face for going to see that movie.

Should have waited another 15minutes, then the movie would have been over

Cool

I thought Cloverfield was cool.

And, you missed out on the camcorder guy's demise. LOL.

Cloverfield is a lot like The Blair Witch Project.

You either love em, or you hate em. I have not seen many in the middle.

Yeah, I really liked this movie as well.
Apparently so did a lot of voters on IMDB. It has a rating of 8/10 with 26,575 votes.

I dont get motion sickness ever, riding in boats whatever and never had I gotten sick. Watching this movie made me ill! I've watched Blair witch and I was fine with that but this movie messed me up. Even a couple of hours after the movie I stil wanted to puke and my eyes wanted to cross lol.

I liked the movie tho.

I walked out of Cloverfield too...

... to get some popcorn.

I enjoyed the movie. Then, ten minutes after the conclusion I never thought about it again.

I've heard the warnings from friends about the nausea, so I've stayed away from this one. I came out of Blair Witch with the worst migraine of my life and am not interested in going through that again. I tend to get the same way on motion simulation rides, too.

The movie is definitely worth seeing, but I knew I wasn't going to be blown away after watching it. I got used to the camcorder vibe about 20mins into it. The movie was good but not worth the crazy internet hype.

I thought this was a great movie personally. Yeah the camcorder part I felt would of been better left out but it was still really good. I know alot of people are saying they hate it but if your not sure I say go see it. I found some people already hate the movie before they saw it because of the hype just like some loved it before because of the hype which really annoys me in either case.

Is the movie seriously just over an hour long?

Short movies blow IMO. Blair Witch was ok but way overrated. I hope this one is better.

Cool

Cloverfield is one hour and twenty-four minutes long. It has to be shorter than the average film because of the unsteadycam effect that they were using. Most people are able to watch the unsteadycam with no ill effects, but other people cannot handle it. My friend just closed his eyes for a minute or two now and then during the film and he said he was fine.

But, really, Cloverfield could not have been filmed some other way and still be the same story with that same impact. The "found video footage" idea itself is not new, as we saw with The Blair Witch Project, but the idea of finding a camcorder with footage of a giant monster attack is a new idea. Cloverfield definitely went farther than The Blair Witch Project when it came to showing the audience more rather than less.

And, for anybody that stayed all the way to the end of the credits, there was something there for you, LOL. There is some garbled vocals at the end that vaguely say, "It's still alive." So, I think that we may see a sequel to this movie.

Here is an artist's rendering of Cloverfield from pre-production:
It's funny, but there is a Japanese film out on DvD at Blockbuster that is a complete rip-off of Cloverfield. It's the same exact story except that it takes place in Tokyo. The Japanese version is titled simply "The Monster."

The Monster parts were cool. It's just like I said, when you watched the soldiers trying to shoot it the damn picture was all upside down, diagonal, I just couldnt hang. Im sure that if the movie was filmed int he normal way I wouldve enjoyed it more.

I also walked out. Every one in my movie theatre booed and one guy stood up during it and scremed "This movie F***** sucks!".
I agreed with him, never been a big fan of these type of creature films.

Cool

Well, you guys seem to have the minority experience, LOL.

Cloverfield (2008)

The movie had a $25 million budget and has already pulled in an estimated $55 million. On that scale, it is a success. And, January movies do not tend to do well in the theaters. Cloverfield will likely break $100 million.

How is it a complete rip off if it's already on video? Think maybe you have that backwards, sub.
