Same here on "We Own The Night." Looks like a good movie so I got it, but just haven't really been overly eager to watch it quite yet.

I went to see Juno with my wife around Christmas time...thought it was a cute little movie. I'm a fan of both Jason Bateman & Michael Cera (Arrested Development and all).
It's pretty darn popular and I've seen so many raving reviews...perhaps a bit overrated but still like it all right.

Took the girlfriend to see Juno last week, it was by no means great but wasn't incredibly horrible either. Had some decent comedic moments and the dialogue was amusing at times. Overall I'd say it's better than the average chick flick.

I saw Rambo last night and have to say.
GREAT ACTION FLICK.
Over the top in fact. Very good theatrics with all the shoot em ups, explosions, they also had some decent hand to hand combat scenes with weapons that were very well choreographed (lots of liver shot stabs, etc).
It was a short movie, and as usual Stallone tries to make a political point about ethnic cleansing that goes on in Burma. It is VERY graphic. Alot of rape scenes, torture scenes, etc. But it's placed in the context of the evil that goes on in that part of the world, so it's not senseless violence.
Of course the story is cheesy, but h as some decent characters in it and if you're in the mood for just alot of action.
Rambo doesent disappoint.

King of Kong 8.5/10
You gotta love any movie that has a definitive "Good vs. Evil" storyline about two grown men competing for the world's record high-score in Donkey Kong. The year's least interesting subject matter ended up being one hell of a compelling and funny movie.

And because I Know you were all waiting around for it...
Heatwaves' Unofficial 2008 Top 10 List
1. 3:10 to Yuma - The best Western since "Young Guns IV: Cowpies & Buckaroos"
2. No Country For Old Men - I'm a big Cormac McCarthy fan and this film nearly paralleled a great book.
3. Zodiac - A surprisingly compelling drama about a group of people trying reveal the Zodiac killer.
4. There Will Be Blood - Daniel Day-Lewis, yadda, yadda, yadda. Other actors are dancing monkeys in comparision.
5. Breach - The best movie no one ever heard of. CIA espionage drama.
6. Walk Hard: The Story of Dewey Cox - Ray Charles may have been blind, but Dewey Cox's story is more tragic. He's smell-blind.
7. Shoot 'Em Up - I'm not an "action movie" guy, but this one is the action movie to end all action movies. I now view carrots as weapons.
8. 28 Weeks Later - Unbelievably tense. I loved this one more than the first one.
9. (4-way documentary tie) King of Kong/No End In Sight/Sicko/Crazy Love - All four of these docs are great and on equal ground. The second one is about the turmoil of the Iraq War, while the last one is a romance about a man who threw acid in the face of his wife - and you wouldn't believe what happens next.
10. The Lookout - Poor-man's "Memento"
* My disclaimer is that I still haven't seen a couple of highly rated movies (Michael Clayton, Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Atonement, and Curious George and those Amazin' Elastic Pants).

Yeah that was a good movie. I went to High School in Central Texas and they even mentioned the town I was in (Temple) when the psycho was messing with the old geezer at that gas station.
The movie was well written, excellent acting, and also captured the slow pace of Texas life.
It is well deserving of the oscar nominations it got. It got quite a few from what I h ear.

We just seen apocolyto. I never wanted to see it because it was subtitled. Awsome, brutal true story. Worth watching it again.
