****ing awesome it was!
Funny you mention Taproot. Their from Ann Arbor MI ya know. When I was working in MI at my self storage job, they came in to rent a unit. We have the best facilities and were located near there home. I met the band and management. I hook them up on rent and they gave me one of their phone numbers and told me to hit them up if I ever need tickets to one of their shows. I still never took them up on that offer. .

I just recently saw the Foo Fighters live and was very impressed. Dave Grohl is a maniac on stage, sprinting around while playing the guitar and working the crowd. They had a walkway out into the middle of the crowd and halfway through the concert another stage dropped from the rafters into the middle of the arena. From their they played about a 6 song acoustic set and then finished really strong. I walked away feeling like I witnessed something really special. It was awesome.
Against Me! and Serg Tankian opened for them that night. I became a fan of Against Me! from that show, they rock.

Against me! Great modern punk rock band... Foo Fighters impressed me with Weezer too!

Yeah, they were awesome. Bands like Nine inch Nails and even Fear Factory draw a lot from DM. They are dark and a bit heavier than most people think. Smoking hot girls at this show too. Speaking of smoking hot, tell your dad I'm sorry about the skunk smell !!

- Weezer @ the Ice Palace in St. Pete Florida
- I've seen Dave Matthews 8 times and ironically the best of his shows I saw was @ the Ice Palace as well
- 311 @ the House of Blues in Orlando, it's a small venue and I was 10 feet from stage the whole show.
- NOFX and Lagwagon at the Button South in Ft. Lauderdale prolly holds 250 people at the most, $12 bucks to get in Joey Cape was hilarious and Fat Mike wouldn't shut the **** up about old rich people from Boca Raton.
- Bad Religion @ the House of Blues in O-Town
- Phil Lesh and friends @ The Hard Rock in O-Town, ate one too many goo-balls at this one (ok there's no such thing as one too many )
- And last but not least Foo Fighters @ The House of Blues once again in O-Town, I was front and center for that one too and it was Chris Shiflett's first tour with the band (former guitarist of one of my other favorite bands No Use for a Name)
There have been many more, but those stand out the most.

Old thread, I know. I am sick and bored.
1-14-88 Savatage opened, Megadeth was middle relief, and Dio was the closer.
Four excellent Guitarists in one smalltown show. Chris Oliva w/Savatage, Dave Mustaine and Jeff Young w/Megadeth, and Craig Goldie w/Dio.... And the best of them all was Chris Oliva of Savatage. It STILL pisses me off that a drunk driver killed him and cut short not only his great playing, but his life as well.
