Are You a Green Thumb/HandyMan/Or Lazy Ass?
Here we go.
I have this annoying backyard neighbor (The guy who lives behind me). He's an old fart, retired with his wife. Overall a nice guy, but he's freakin Nosy.
He'll say things like "Oh, time for you to mow your lawn so you keep up with th other houses on the street"
or
"Looks like it's time for you to clean up your pool."
Smart ass remarks like this. If I don't do it, he gets all pissy and antsy.
First off I pay a guy to do my lawn. I do my own pool stuff, but only when I get around to it.
So, are any of you like me when it comes to yard work? Just lazy? Or are you a green thumb/Handy Man?
Cause me? I mean once I start a project, I keep doing it until completion, but this crap about keeping your lawn mown just to be like the rest of the neighborhood? That's just conformist IMO and is for the birds.
My gardener comes once every other week.. Tough crap if my neighbors mow their grass twice a week.

I'll fix stuff if it needs fixing, so i guess I'm a handyman. But when it comes to yard work, I'm a huge lazy ass.

I'm too cheap/poor to pay anybody to fix anything, so I guess I qualify as a handyman. The extent of my green thumb is pulling weeds out of my driveway and the sidewalk in front of my house.

Anything inside I clean and constantly fix but I am extremely lazy when it comes to work outside. I actually like to let grass grow a little, it looks better to me.

I'm pretty anal about my yard and my neighbors. If they don't weed eat I spray round up on their side of the fence to kill the crap that grows between the fence and comes into my side. My neighbor nextdoor wasn't very intimate with his lawnmower until another neighbor and myself would put copies of the covenants in his mailbox with the highlighted section about keeping your yard up. I have no problem telling any of them how much of an eye sore their yards are and making them feel like crap. Having a morning cup of coffee on my deck and having to see crap irritates me.

I keep the inside as good as I can and the outside, eh, to hell with it. If my neighbors were like your I'm sure they would never shut up. My roommates and I have a toilet on our back porch, a spray painted fridge on the lawn, and a Toyoto Forerunner that was rolled, stripped, and left like a carcass to rust away in the grass. We'll get around to it some day but I'm not concerned because it doesn't affect me. I'd probably flip my neighbor a double deuce of birds if he complained.

Lazy ass definately.
The house that me and the wifey rented before we bought our flat had a massive back garden and we'd always leave mowing the lawn until the neighbours complained. I get hayfever (pollen allergy) real bad in the summer so I wasnt exactly overly motivated to get out there and start mowing lol.

I mow about once per week at the most.
Right now I am working on the inside of our house since we just moved.
Outside is going to have to wait for a little while, but I enjoy it.
Already have big plans for stripping and re staining our tiny deck.

How annoying. I'd probably say something like "Time to get rid of your ear hair and mind your own business" You know us New Yawkers
A neighbor/friend of mine has a lawn service and gives me a good deal.
So for lawn work...lazy ass. For other things like painting, fixing the furnace, some plumbing, some electrical...handyman.

I rent so am not responsible for the yard work. However i am also in the process of looking to buy my own house. No neighbors is a must since while i am not a lazy ass i have absolutely no intention of having a traditional lawn.

hahah, I'm glad I'm not t he only one that really hates yard work.
For the record, I worked on my pool last night and it looks good aside from the typical dust accumulation thanks to severe Delta Breezes we get this time of year.
But the water looks good. Just pretend the dust is sand at a beach.
The old geezer will probably still bitch that I have dust in my pool, but you can't get my water any bluer than it is.
He can kiss my ass!
