If they still think they're right, I accept that and move on. You, however, have trouble grasping that. Does McMahon need my money? No. Do I give a rat's azz whether the WWE needs me or not? Of course not.
I suggest getting some people skills. This is a forum, everyone is here to post their opinion. Nothing more, nothing less. I try and give you and your opinion respect, and you're pretty much spitting in my face.

I'm not upset at all. I love these conversations. I like talking about stuff that I think is cool. If I thought it sucked, then I would not comment. Well, I might say that I disliked it once, but not drive that bus home the way that you are.
And, you can go flush your "people skills" down the toilet with the rest of your BS. Post your opinion. I am free to post my opinion. There is no limit to that. Your opinion is that "It sucks!" So, my opinion of your opinion is that your opinion sucks! Is that enough spit in your face?
Okay, now let the adults discuss what the thread is about, because we all already know that you do not like pro-wrestling and have never watched it before. You don't know anything about it, and that is okay. I do not want you to watch it or know about it. That is why this is in the off-topic thread.

You know what was sad? Seeing Hawk & Animal come back to the WWE to do a job for RVD & Kane. I actually DL'd that match without knowing anything about it, because I thought it would be a fun combination. But it wasn't. In my head, Hawk (R.I.P) and Animal are still in the incredible shape they were in 25 years ago, when the show they put on was untouchable. Instead I got a team that had smaller muscles, bigger bellies, and they just couldn't move like they used to. Their doubleteam moves weren't half as impressive, and it was one of those matches where the opposition was clearly helping them sell stuff. And they rolled over for Kane & RVD and went back to the locker room, and I wish I hadn't seen it.

I agree, SitNSpin. I wish that the Road Warriors had just stayed retired. All that stuff that they did at the end was weak compared to what they did in the AWA and NWA (WCW). Heidenreich tried to fill the gap left when Hawk died, but that did not work. Now Animal was fired on June 6th 2006, and that should be the end of the LOD. They came in like lions and went out like lambs. It kind of made me mad to see it go that way.

When I was five years old, my grandfather sat with me every Saturday morning and we watched pro-wrestling. It was our regular Saturday together. He explained all about what I was seeing. At no time did I ever have the perception that pro-wrestling was real. I suppose that is why I like to watch it. I always knew it was just for fun entertainment. My grandpa used to buy PWI Illustrated along with all of the other pro-wrestling magazines. I was always up on the events that I could not see on TV. To me it was just a TV show that was always new (rarely a repeat like with normal TV shows).

theres way too much controvery now, it got too ridiciulous.. i miss the days of a good old cage match with no cheating.. or the days of the more realistic matches... like when papa shango put a vudoo curse on the ultiment warrior to make him bleed black blood and throw up all over the place!

Speaking of the Ultimate Warrior, have you guys had a chance to see the documentary that the WWE released last year? I believe the title was "The Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior." A pretty negative portrayal, but based on everything I've ever heard and read, I don't really doubt any of it.
There's stuff in it like how he'd work too stiff in his matches (wrestling lingo for hitting too hard, FYI) and people were constantly getting punched and kicked and clotheslined because he'd go crazy and lean into stuff instead of pulling back like he was supposed to. Bobby Heenan told a really funny story about the Warrior's feud with Andre the Giant. They had three matches in three nights, and the plan at one point was that Andre would slam the Warrior, mug to the crowd, and turn around right into a running clothesline. Of course in pro wrestling, it's the guy receiving the clothesline who's selling it and knocking himself off his feet. Andre turns around, expecting to see the Warrior five feet away and charging towards him, but WHAM -- instant clothesline, a fair bit harder than it needed to be.
The next night in a different town, same thing. Andre turns around, thinking THIS time the Warrior will get it right, and WHAM!!! Same clothesline, only twice as hard.
Third night, another town. Same routine, only this time Andre turns around 20 seconds earlier and holds his toaster-sized fist out in front of him with a totally stiff arm. The Warrior plows straight into it face-first and gets knocked off his feet and it takes a few seconds before the match can return to the plan.
Andre gets out of the ring after and says to Heenan "He'll learn." :P
There's also some not-so-funny stuff, like how minutes before a headlining match in a sold-out arena, the Warrior announces that he's not going out unless McMahon comes to the locker room and hands over a huge cash payout. I can't remember how much it was (Subgenius?) -- 25 grand, maybe? More? Anyway, McMahon decides that the show has to go on, so he comes down, pays the Warrior off, lets the match happen, and then fires his ass immediately after.

I forget how much it was, but yeah it was a lot. The Ultimate Warrior used to be Sting's partner in the old Bladerunners tag team. IIRC, even Sting eventually could not work with TUW.

i must have been one of the millions of kids who thought Pro-wrestling was real. my father always used to tell me to quit watching that crap. in 6th grade i used to wrestle in the backyard with my friends. of course it was NOTHING like the idiot kids do today. it was basically a grappling match between two kids with no grappling skills. we even had a belt. i was champion!!! it was made of construction paper.

We are alike in this, except I have to pay for the PPV's
I never liked that spinning "WWE" title belt. I was hoping RVD would stomp the hell out of it when he beat Cena...
