Then, got blown out the consecutive 2 years in round one of the playoffs.
To his credit, the 11 years he was there the Yankees have won their division every year, and won 4 WS titles. Which in lesser cities across the nation and other parts of the country may be o.k. But in New York??? Division championships = nothing!
Lou Piniella??? Well, I would have preferred the Yankees hung on to Randolph so that if Torre ever got fired or retired, Randolph would be the Yankee coach, but Steinbrenner is racist, so that woont happen.
We'll see. The Yankees arent gonna fall off the face of the earth just becauase Torre is no longer the manager.
