Is BloodSport the First MMA Movie?
I was just wondering what you all thought about Jean Claude Van Damme's movie Bloodsport.
It had Kung Fu, Street Fighting, a boxer, a Karate, Aikido, TKD, a Muay Thai guy, a Judo Guy , a Ninja guy and my favorite the Monkey Kung Fu guy.
And I dont know WTF the fat Hawaiin dude was supposed to be. I guess he was just the fat Hawaiin dude who was hella strong that didnt have a style!
In the end of course we all know that Jean Claude Van Damme (the Ninja guy) wins it all, but was ust wondering if Bloodsport was the first official Mixed Martial Arts movie of our time?

All those films except Enter the Dragon should be forgotten from film history.
But there is a point to the original post. Bloodsport wasn't really much different from the old UFC events.

Nope.. The first one I know of is called Kings of the Square Ring. Its from the 1970s. Totally worth checking out
"2-Disc Set
Description: KINGS OF THE SQUARE RING captures some of the most amazing battles ever seen in the field of mixed martial arts, an extreme sport that combines elements of boxing, wrestling, karate, muay thai, jiujitsu, and tae kwon do into a no-holds-barred style of fighting. The collection presents archival footage of fighting greats like Mas Oyama, Benny "The Jet" Urquidez, Rikidozan, Antonio Inoki, and Muhammad Ali, as well as a bonus segment on female fighters called AMAZONS IN WRESTLING."
