Rogans always been the better comic, Mind of Mencia was hilarious in the first season but now it's just lame. He needs to be like Chappelle and know when to get out.

Rogan has had a little exchange with Denis Leary as well, for the same reason. That wasn't in person though.

Joe Rogan is a well spoken, intelligent, athlete who stands up for himself. Why don't people like this guy? When I watch the UFC he knows moves that are going to occur three moves in advance.
Also, I go on record as having never thought Mencia was funny. He annoys the hell out of me, but now I am without hell, so that's cool.

joe gives me the impression that he is the guy who is a real smartass in company, if there wasa fight in a bar it would be because of joe rogan, unfortunatly this short, grizzly dude could back it up but he knows it and so gets in faces. iv never been a big fan of rogan for some reason. i think hes a bit to cocky and kinda a dick but, hey im coming round to him kindov.

dont know why but im more tolerant of him. although it hurts me to say it.

Actually, the first time I heard of Mencia, was through a Rogan-fan saying how he's a hack. He got his own show later and from what I understand was quite succesful.
When I saw his material, I thought it was mostly horrible. Just nonsense "I'm a beener, I'm a beener" etc. Plus of course the stolen stuff, that had some quality.

So I had an opinion on him before I saw his stuff, but his personality does seem crap. I hope his career dies right about now. He must be worried anyway... but he got rid of those vids a bit too slowly. Lotta talk on the internets.

Edit: Nimmy, I feel he's a dick and a smartass to deserving targets only. Mostly anyway.
He seems like a guy you would have fun hanging around with to me.
I have heard a lot of his stuff, and there's not much I disagree with.

Then Ari is there just waiting in the wings for Rogan? Then Bobby Lee just happens to be there outside the club to talk with Rogan and the other comics? Were they all performing that night?

It would not surprise me if this was all staged as a joke. I mean, look at it this way, comic have always stolen each others jokes and bits. Whoppi Goldberg openly admits to taking Richard Pryor's work and making it her own. It is not called stealing. They call it borrowing. Non of those jokes can be patented. If Joe Rogan had a case, then it would be in court and not on stage.

I am leaning towards thinking this is all a joke that Mecia and Rogan are putting on people. I could be wrong. But, some things seem too convenient to be true or believeable.

Mencia was made to look foolish and duplicitous. This cannot help his career. I cannot see anyone agreeing to have that BJJ menace in his face for that long. I bet he lost 5 lbs.

There's nothing fishy there. Rogan has said Mencia is a joke-stealing hack for a long long time now. And there's no way Mencia would agree to some act like this. And that convo with Bobby Lee happened at another time. The guy who made the video simply added clips from here and there to prove the allegations. Like with that Ari guy telling the joke, then Mencia repeating it.

And it IS called stealing, and it's pretty much the worst insult for a comedian.

I highly doubt this was staged. Mencia has a history of being accused of being a hack. I really can't see him agreeing to this as he has gotten so much negative publicity from this. The video spread like wild fire, two stories of this have been on digg front page and its been posted on collegehumor too. Rogan seems to have gotten "banned" from the comedy club but has gained quite a few supporters.

Settling the case in court is indeed not an option

, but I would assume that it's common etiquete not to steal someone elses work. As Gooner said, the clip of bobby lee was filmed at another time. The clip was edited in as support for the claims against mencia.

See I absolutely LOVED the first season of Mind of Mencia, it was hilarious but once I realized that he was stealing others material I lost all respect for him, I highly doubt it was staged because as Gooner said the only thing this will do is hurt Mencias career and always have people second guess him. I completely understand why Rogan is so upset, comics have to work their butts off for those jokes, in person I'm a pretty funny guy and I've tried to sit down and work out a comedy routine and I couldn't do it, you can't just play off other people when you're on stage, you have to work and re-work the taglines and setups until you get the perfect reaction from the crowd, laughter. Mad props to Joe and everyone else that stood up to him.

Then explain Whoopi Goldber. She openly admitted stealing (she said borrowing) from Richard Pryor. She said it to HIS FACE that all her work was based on his work. Guess what he did? He loved it. He said that he was flattered. Comics have been stealing from each other since the beginning. This is not new. Comedy Central gave Mencia a TV show. They surely knew where he was coming from.

The scene with Bobby Lee looked like it was right outside the club. I could be wrong, but it looked like Joe Rogan had on the same clothes. I will watch it again.

Anyway, if I were Mencia, then I would sue Rogan and the Comedy Club for allowing Rogan to take the stage and ruin the act. Mencia obviously was not getting paid to argue with Rogan.

By the way, Jay Leno used the Mexicans building the wall joke as well. He never gave credit to anybody for it.

I am not a fan of Mencia exactly. I watched a few episodes of his show. There certainly was plenty of material there that was not stolen.

EDIT: I rewatched. The material with Lee was older. That is ture. So, I did not watch closely enough the first time.
