Gygax

We can start taking names off that card already. Ricardo Arona says he was contacted but never agreed to fight NYE due to personal issues.

From Graciemag...

That may end up being the case for a few of those names. Typical promotion.

uuuuughhh, lame!!

Heheh.. looks like they took a page out of the DSE promotion book, the one thing I hated about PRIDE. Ah well, we will give it time and see how it develops, but they def. count thier chickens before they hatch

Japanese PPV, no PPV in the US and no broadcast TV in Japan.

Thats no good :(. I guess it'll be floating round the net or on M-1's site.

From Graciemag...

When queried about M-1 Global and Fedor, the athlete responded: M-1 Global hunted me down to fight at the end of this year, but Im having some personal problems and will not be able to go. They also offered me a fight in February and there is a great possibility of that. As for Fedor, nobodys said anything about that to me; Id be stoked to fight him, I think weight will not be a problem, he can either drop a bit or Ill go up.

I think that this is awesome to see.
I'm sure there will ne no way for me to PPV it here where I live....but the overall card is very encouraging.
I was happy when the whole UFC-Pride deal happened, hoping that we would see some really great matches that people have wanted to see for years.....now that it's apparent that is was never really Zuffa's goal to create that sort of setup....I am very glad that the UFC once again will have some serious competition, with very serious talent. I think it's good for the sport overall.
That said...I am still very dissappointed in the possible Fedor/HMC matchup. I am not saying that HMC isn't a friggin beast, or that he doesn't present any danger to Fedor. He's got 1' on him in height and nearly a full 100lbs in weight...plus K-1 striking skills...so yeah he'll be a handful I am sure.
It's just that within the sport of MMA, this matchup just makes no sense at all. It appeals to the market that it's targeting....I get that totally....It just does nothing really, to legitimately further Fedor's career. It will most likely be an impressive...but pointless win for Fedor.

But yeah....I will concede that it is going to be very cool to see him in action again and the card looks to have the potential of being pretty dang strong. I hope that Dana is watching. LOL ;)

I really thought that the UFC would pick up Sakurai ever sense I saw him at one of the UFC events. This blows. Anyway I like the fact that they got hansen back in the game.

Wow, what a fantastic card.

Looks like Fedor doesn't have a problem with a 90% Japanese org. LOL. At any rate I am glad to see great fighters on this card. Reminds me of Pride.

Yes, a big thumbs up to some fights I, and I am guessing most of this forum, are not going to be able to see. Us UFC honks are more interested in news relevant to the events we can actually discuss after we watch them. We don't even know the match ups on this card yet.

So, good job M-1?

Wow, so you'd disregard a whole org because you cant watch it on television?

If I did that Id only be able to see Cage Rage and UFC!

good news, hopefully some Japanese millionaire businessman will come across the show whilst flicking through terrestrial TV, realising the potential will hire Sakakibara to resurrect his daughter.
