Anyone else see this as a lame attempt to get Kimbo a bit of credibility by feeding him a "known name", but a guy who has little chance of beating him? That's how it looks to me, anyway.

I was just about to ask if anyone knew when Gina was fighting again.........WAR Gina !!!
She don't fight at her normal weight cuz of the level the girls at the lower weight are at its a better deeper class so she fights their.
And FYI I don't think any fighter fights at their normal weight they all cut to the next class or two under them so they are bigger........Gina is just a tall girl so she can hold a lot more weight then most chicks.
Plus she was not filling good when she had to make that last cut so it was really hard.

Kimbo will take Tank down and either GnP him or submit him. That is Tank's weakness.
Alright!, Gina is fighting again, I can't wait to see here in action. I hope he came in prepared this time cause the last time she barely made weight and she didn't look herself.

Tank is a fat washed up bar fighter with a punchers chance every fight he is in..........Kimbo is acually trying to get into legit MMA and has been training for it I don't think Tank has ever even walked by a Jiu-Jitsu school much less been in one in his life, Have you seen him fight ??? The guy is gassed after about 5 swings.
Tank = Joke ----- Kimbo = A work in progress with some nice up side

More Fighters Added to EliteXC in Feb
This is a pretty good card!
EliteXC Announces Additional Bookings for Feb. 16 Show -- MMAjunkie.com
Quote:
Antonio Silva, Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett, Yves Edwards and Edson Berto have all been added to the Feb. 16 EliteXC fight card, which features a heavyweight main event of Kimbo Slice vs. Tank Abbott.
The organization made the announcement on Wednesday.
The event will be held at the University of Miami’s BankUnited Arena. The televised portion of the events airs at 10 p.m. ET on Showtime. (The West Coast will get a tape-delayed version of the broadcast at 10 p.m. PT.)
Silva, who slimmed down to 265 lbs. for his latest fight, scored a first-round submission of Jonathan Wiezorek at EliteXC’s November event. He’ll take on Shane Carwin, an undefeated (8-0) heavyweight from Colorado.
Bennett most recently competed at an October King of the Cage show for a first-round submission victory. He debuted with EliteXC in February with a stunning first-round knockout of K.J. Noons but flopped in an August “ShoXC” main event with Victor Valenzuela and was forced to submit from the strikes.
Edwards was originally slated to headline the Jan. 25 “ShoXC” event vs. Kyle Bradley, but as MMAjunkie.com (UFC News & Rumors - MMA News - UFC Fighters - UFC Event Recaps and Previews - MMAjunkie.com) was the first to report, he will instead sign on with the UFC to fight Chris Lytle at UFC 81 next month. Edwards will now fight Berto, an EliteXC and Real Fighting Championships vet.
Tickets for EliteXC’s Feb. 16 event go on sale Friday. They can be purchased at Ticketmaster or the University of Miami’s BankUnited Box Office.
The latest card now includes:
Tank Abbott vs. Kimbo Slice
Shane Carwin vs. Antonio Silva
Gina Carano vs. TBA
Edson Berto vs. Yves Edwards
Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett vs. TBA
Kyle Noke vs. Scott Smith
Brett Rodgers vs. James Thompson

Carwin has been pulled from the card. EliteXC never had a contract with him (though they were negotiating) and should have never released that press release mentioning him.
I had a great post about that matchup, but deleted it when I found out. Its BS that they would even put that out there.

Yet another "rumor"?
Yeah, I saw your large pictures. I've never heard of Carwin but I've seen Antonio Silva fight once or twice before. I was looking forward to seeing them square off.

I'm really aggravated by EliteXC right now.
Showtime/EliteXC is still listing that fight, Carwin vs Silva. Yet it has been confirmed by Sam Caplan of EliteXC that Carwin is not signed. This is the second time in a week that they advertised a false fight. That’s crap. EliteXC better put a stop to that somehow. Its no different than the Japanese promotions putting out names of fighters that were never going to fight on a card to begin with. For example, Yarennoka advertised Arona up until about two weeks prior to the event. Meanwhile Arona had said he wouldn’t be fighting at that event in early November. I hope this doesn’t become EliteXC/Showtime’s habit of releasing fight cards without having them anywhere near confirmed. First Kyle Bradley is advertised as fighting on the ShoXC event on Jan 25th, then pulled 3 days later. Now they're doing the same thing with Shane Carwin. I never liked it when Pride pulled that crap, I'm not going to like it with EliteXC. Garbage.

This will definately be a fun fight to watch, even if it only lasts for a minute or so. I don't think we will see a whole lot of grappling, I imagine that they will be trading blows until someone is knocked out.
My guess is its Tank that gets knocked out.
I still remember the time Tank tried to toss some fighter over the side of the cage.
Oh, the good old days of the early UFC...

This is getting ridiculous!
Gina Carano is now off the card, according to MMAJunkie. There is some speculation that she never agreed to be on the card in the first place.
First Kyle Bradley, then Shane Carwin, now one of their premier stars in Gina Carano. Gary Shaw can talk all the crap he wants about how great EliteXC treats their fighters and what a dog Dana White is, but maybe he should concentrate on his own house a little more. Like why they keep advertising fighters as being on shows when they're not. Until we see a confirmation directly from Tank Abbott, are we suppose to worry about the validity of that fight? Stop the shenanigans, please!

Don't say that lol. I can't believe they were stupid enough to announce one of their stars(Gina) when it wasn't confirmed. Just plain moronic.
