Yeah Arona beat Sakuraba but it wasn't the same Sakuraba Silva faced a couple years ago the old Sakuraba would have beat the hell out of Arona

How can you honestly say that? You don't know that. We'll never know that because it'll never happen. But I do know that Arona beat Sakuraba. Silva beat Sakuraba in 2003. That wasn't that long ago. I don't see Sakuraba being any... different than he was a couple years ago.

2 years is a big difference I bet if Chuck and Rampage fought again I think it would be different though I still think Rampage would win. How about Shogun 2 years ago how was he as a fighter the same I think not. I could go up to Ali now and punch him in the face and knock him say I beat Ali right or would it be different when I fought him years ago

Your comparison to Ali is doesn't match up.
1. Ali is retired
2. He has parkinson's disease
3. He's 63 years old
Sakuraba is still fighting and he isn't retired. Two years really isn't that much difference.
Heck his record in 2005 and 2004 is better than his in 2003. In 2004/2005 he was 2-1. In 2003 he was 1-3. So stats wise, Sakuraba is better now than he was when he fought Silva.

Brandon dude you are so on Silvas nuts man. I have watched the fight 3 times so far, and if you haven't watched it twice I suggest you do cause you really see much much more. I'm going to watch it 3 more times this weekend, and guess what I will see. The same damn thing I saw the first 3 times I watched it. Arona standing right in front of the best striker in the 205 division, and Silva doing NOTHING. Silva the BJJ black belt sitting on his back without even opening his guard. Silva getting two yellow cards. Silva throwing four punches only to get a mouth full of Ricardo's knee.
The way you put Arona down only puts Silva down. If Arona is as bad as you say, why didn't Silva engage in a stand up battle. Dude your so naive if you really think Silva threw the fight. This is a match that carries a lot, the top 2 Brazilian teams, and pretty much the two best 205ibs. Brazilians in the world. I can't believe this, but I'm actually starting to not like Silva just cause everyone is all up on his nuts. Arona beat Silva, get over it, Silva will have his oppurtunity to prove himself.
By the looks of your point total you bet on Silva, well I didn't bet with points but real cash, and yes Ricardo Arona won me some good money. And guess what a **** load of people in Brazil made a bunch of money too, cause yes Arona was the favorite in Brazil.

Also, why would Silva throw away 5 years of hard work, and his rank at number 1 at 205 for a team partner. Shogun isn't even his student but a peer.
Put it this way:
Arona > Silva that night.
Period! /end thread!

I will definitely take a bet on the rematch. It will happen.
After finally seeing the fight. Arona fought more aggressive than I have ever seen him fight. He was in there to win. He was the better fighter. Brandon have you honestly ever seen anyone knock Wandy flat on his butt from a low kick? That was a first for me. He also was pouding away with the hammer fists and they were connecting and doing damage. I don't think Wanderlei was ready for the Arona he stepped in the ring with that night. Not saying that Wandy can't beat Arona because he can, I'm just saying that Arona was the better fighter this time. I cannot wait to see them fight again.

That fight taught Wanderlia alot I think he's gonna go back and work on his ground game alot because he looks literally pathetic on the ground he just lays there I don't see how he got a bjj blackbelt this had to be Wands worst showing ever and he has fought much better ppl If he loses his title to Arona I won't kno what to say

i agree with angry johny its all about the way they fight...yes their ego/attitude, and sportsmanship has a lot to do with it but once they are at it 1 on 1 fighting do you really think about all that?

I am a huge Wandy fan I was thinking he would blow away arona, but Wandy didnt do anything he just stood there and arona pulled it. Wandy needs to fight Chuck in the UFC that would be tight.

First he needs to fight Arona again.. I doubt he will ever go to the UFC. He is fine at Pride, making mucho dollars and he is still the MW Champ.
