Thread: Wanderlei Silva and Rampage Jackson?

I just watch Pride 25 and have one question. What the hell is wrong with Wanderlei Silva?

I am new to pride but couldn’t believe he got in the ring and pushed Quinton Jackson and acted like that! Any real champ would have said “congrats on your win and I’ll see you in the ring next time”. But Silva jumps in the ring and pulls some stupid WWE crap trying to fight on the spot THEN they give him a microphone and he starts yelling, “Come on! Come on!” at Jackson.

So what’s the story? Can anyone fill me in on what his problem is? Is he the MMA Mike Tyson? (all rage and no brain)

I’m new to pride and absolutely LOVE it. I joined netflix just so I could get the Pride DVD’s and am slowly working my way down the list of events.

Any inside info appreciated!

wandies an animal thats how he is and thats how he fights. its that rage and anger thats got him so far in mma.

i just watched that same DVD myself. i am not surprised at all by Silva's reaction. Jackson called him out. when Wandi got in the ring Jackson says something about Wandi having his(jackson's) belt and thanks for holding it but i want it back now. i would have pushed Jackson too, but i would have ran like hell after doing it. Wandi is a badass man, he really earned his nickname "the ax murderer".

i really like both of these guys, i have only seen their second fight and the end of the first, im gonna have to go find it. Wandy really messed up rampage in their second fight, nasty knees!

I think it was for show. Wanderlei says himself "I am always a good boy until I get in the ring" He is not a cocky a-hole like a lot of fighters who dominiate fighters the way he does. He does things outside of fighting with helping at like childrens events and things like that and he is always smiles and hugs when he sees people out of the ring. Shoot, the guy went to Disneyland with Fedor for crying out loud!

Normally I would agree. Silva is a good boy until the bell rings. But if you watch the Silva featurette on the DVD, you will see him eyeing Jackson big time when he is coming down the ramp. Everytime Jackson wouls turn in Wands direction Silva would either move to the front of his seat ready to stand, or he would just stand. I think he really was pissed.

But I guess it could have been show, it sure was great watching it.
