Might be a dumb question but why is Fedor not defending the title??
Sounds like an awesome card, wonder if we will see Rampage fight again soon??

I'm not sure why Fedor is not defending the title, but maybe they will make it a title match before the event.
The card looks really strong, and I don't think there is any way I can pass this one up. I haven't ever ordered a Pride PPV, but this will probably be the first one of many.
I would order it just for the following:
Arona/Silva
Gomi/Sakurai
Henderson/Bustamente
Then, you add in Fedor/Zulu, CroCop/Hunt, etc. And the PPV is looking awesome!
I'll be honest, I don't know much about any of the Japanese fighters except Sakuraba and Fujita, so I'm not sure about those other fights. I'm sure they are all strong match-ups though.
I hope to see some of the rumors from MMAWeekly come true as well. I want to see Big Nog, Shogun, Sergei, etc. fight as well.
Can they fit all these fights into one PPV?

I think Fedor is not defending his title because Zulu is not a contender. He didn't do anything to get a title shot.

Fedor just defended the title in August. He will probably defend again in Critical Countdown or Pride 31 then again against the winner of the GP. But it makes me wonder who would be the contendor since all the top guys will be in the GP.

I just check out Zulu's stat, this guy is huge and heavy. He weight more than Sapp, 390lbs (177kg). This coud be a big test for Fedor.

He's huge, no doubt but nothing that Fedor won't dispose of easily. Trigg gave him 3 minutes and Bennett said 90 seconds before he gets tapped. I really don't disagree with them. Maybe, and it is a very small chance, Zulu will last a few minutes but will go down without any problem for Fedor.

Zulu isn't a can/freak show by any means. The guy fought in a bunch of underground vale tudo matches and has become some what of a legend in Brazil. He's a decent heavyweight with fast hands. I think Fedor will beat him with ease, but I don't want Zulu to get written off too quick. He is decent.

Nakamura vs Kondo will be awesome. Nakamura a Pride veteran with wins over Igor and Randleman. He trains under Yoshida. Kondo on the other hand is the current 185 King of Pancrase and is a legend over there. Those two will have a war.
Ogawa vs Yoshida is a dream match for many Japanese. Yoshida is the 1993 Olympic gold medalist in Judo and has fought a bunch in Pride. He's beaten Hunt, Tank, K-1's Stephan Leko, and Fyre. He fought Wandy twice and Wandy couldn't finish him, and in their second fight it was a split win for Wandy. Ogawa is a puro-wrestler and is 7-1. He made it to the final four in the 2004 GP and lost to Fedor. He is a good fighter and those two I belive hate each other. It'll be a good grudge match.
This pay per view looks awesome!

I didn't mean Zulu was a can by any means. He is huge and that is an advantage for him. I saw one of his fights where he was showing that he can definitely throw. He also threw some pretty good knees. I was just saying against Fedor, I give him little to no chance. Against anyone else I would say he could put up a good fight.

Oh yeah, my comment wasn't aimed at you. I just didn't want others to think he was just a freak show.

i watched this guy at Pride 30. i dont think he has a chance against Fedor. thats not a shot at him, were talking about Fedor. i dont see what this guy could do to him. he'll get takin down and submitted.
lead right, clinch, throw, a little G&P, then a quick armbar. gameover.

Thanks for the information. That actually helps me quite a bit. I'm trying to learn all these MMA fighters, but there are just so many of them. And more and more keep popping up out of nowhere. It seems like all of these guys are well versed in MMA though, so that should be very exciting.
As for Fedor/Zulu, I definitely think it will last a good 5 minutes at least. Zulu will battle, but Fedor will be too fast, too quick, and too powerful. I would like to see someone stand up to Fedor and give him a shot like Fujita did. I don't want to see Fedor lose right now, but I would like to see him on the defensive.

Nope, I'd put it all on Fedor. I'll definitely be putting down a solid chunk of points on him, that's for certain.

When the card is finalized, I'll definatly drop down some predictions. Somebody on "The Underground" reported that getting the fight between Ogawa and Yoshida to work, costed DSE $4,000,000.

Having two Olymipic medalists to fight is great, Ogawa (Silver) and Yoshida (Gold). Ogawa is pretty good himself, his only lost in Pride was to Fedor. I think Yoshida gonna take this one.
