Thread: Bas coming back to Pride!!!!

Exciting news friends! Bas is coming back! Seems Pride, Bas and Trigg are all able to be happy about this deal. Good work DSE they realized how important Bas was to the company.

MMAWeekly.com has had it confirmed that Bas Rutten is back commentating for the Pride Fighting Championships. Many fans converged in Los Angeles tonight for the autograph signing of Shogun and Ninja Rua at a Best Buy in Los Angeles Tuesday Night and Bas confirmed it to many of the fans in attendance.

"I'm happy Bas is coming back...", Chris Garcia of Los Angeles told MMAWeekly.com. Garcia after asking if Bas is back said quote "Bas told me he has signed a new deal which is good news and he will be back."

Rutten will talk about the situation today with MMAWeekly Radio at 9am Pacific/12 Noon eastern at www.mmaweeklyradio.com. The broadcast is absolutely free when you listen live and if you can't listen live check our the radio archives.

MMAWeekly Radio's Frank Trigg was originally brought in to do the Bushido show every other month and will now go back to that role working on the Bushido broadcasts. Rutten's contract dispute has evidentally been worked out and Bas will be back on the pay per view shows for the regular Pride events starting in February, while Trigg will be back working the Bushido broadcasts. For all the people that heard that I was at FRY’S Electronics with the autograph signing from Pride, yes, I am back with PRIDE!

I never thought this would be the case, but after a very good meeting at the PRIDE office here in Los Angeles with PRIDE President Mr. Sakikabara and the Pride representatives here in the States, a lot of light has been shed on the whole situation.

Things have been explained back and forward and we also came to the conclusion that we just really like to work together and that 6 years shouldn’t be thrown away this easy.
So I will be at the broadcast table again in February joining Mauro Ranallo for the next PRIDE show!

I am really psyched about this because like I said in the letter that I posted on my website and in some interviews that I did, I just really like the whole PRIDE scene, the fighters, their trainers, the staff, my friends over there and of course working with Mauro!

I am also very happy that everything is worked out “face to face” with the people here in the States, we now know each others point of view of what happened and because of that everything is cleared up and we can resume our great working relationship that we had before.

One thing though, due to my busy schedule, I will only be handling the PRIDE shows. Frank Trigg, who I thought did a very good job at SHOCKWAVE will do the BUSHIDO events.

This is a great beginning to the New Year for me and I hope it’s a sign of even more good things to come!

I also really want to thank all the fans for their support that they have been giving me and I hope they are as happy as I am!

Yay! War Rutten!

I'm disappointed. I read the thread and thought he was coming back to fight. Commentating is cool to though...just not as cool.

Also glad he is coming back.. last Pride was not the same without his commentary.

Well he isn't doing the Bushido shows which is fine by me. I liked Trigg and I want him to hang around too.

I also thought Trigg did just fine for his first show. While more Bas is better, I am glad Trigg will be back. I wish Brandon was still around so I could hear him complaining about how horrible Trigg was.
