Tim Sylvia .vs. Wagner
Me and my friend were talking about MMA yesterday in person and my friend favours PRIDE of coarse more than UFC like a lot of people do and began to get really, really crazy. He started saying the most crap ever. He said Tim Sylvia who is the best heavyweight of UFC couldn't even beat Wagner of PRIDE. He said Wagner would beat Tim in a round. And I laughed. Complete bull. Tim Sylvia would beat Wagner the way he did to Cabbage. Anyone agree or disagree and think Wagner would win? Why or why not?

Tim would knock Wagner "Zuluzinho" out. That fight against Miller was a joke, granted he got knocked out by the champ Fedor, but he didnīt even last more than 30 seconds, and his ground game is terrible, he just put his arm out there for Big Nog to grap and Armbar him. I think the Japanese just like freaks and throw a couple of them here and there into the ring. If it wasnīt for his "legendary" father Zulu, he probably would have never made it across the ocean. I mean, he is a pretty big guy and can probably fight, but not at mid or high level.

ouch! i am still amazed that Tim Sylvia can get absolutely no respect. next thing out will be Tim could'nt even beat Giant Silva. currently Tim is easily the most skilled and successful fighter at 6'10" and 265lbs.. notice i did not say the most skilled HW. Tim brings to the sport a level of skill combined with size that is very very tough to beat.

Some of the things I hear boggle my mind. It seems that if certain people dislike a fighter he can't do anything right, and if they like him he can do no wrong. Victories and defeats are all screened through this "likeability" filter. I always try to be objective about a fighter's chances, and I even bet points against my favourites if that's the way I read it.
I find in general that posters on Fight Forum tend to be is far more objective and reasoned in their thinking than the other MMA websites I read.

This is a well educated forum in general. most of the ignorant dont last long. you probably already noticed.
I have all the respect in the world for anyone who steps in the cage/ring to fight another pro fighter. Every single one of the guys that due this deserve all the respect and credit that they earn. Im not a big fan of Tim Sylvia but the man is a great fighter. he deserves better than to be insulted with a post like this.
