Sambo literally mean "Self Defense without Weapons" (SAMosaschtschita Bes Oruschija), it was created in the 30īs in Russia. There are 3 different types of Sambo, one is the borba sambo which is a competitive Wrestling style Sambo, which is like the basis of all the other Sambo arts, such as Combat Sambo, which is what Fedor takes part in as seen in the Video, it allows throws, kicks, punches and takedowns and then you got the Sambo Self-Defense style.
