The two guys that do Beatdown on Sherdog thought Tyson would kill someone if he ever fought MMA.

In a game where anyone has a puncher's chance, I gotta think that Tyson would have a better chance than most any MMA puncher. How this fight goes will depend mostly on what rules they use. The further it gets from boxing, the more Tyson's chances go down.

I hope if Mike Does fight in Pride, that it's MMA and a top HW. Don't give him gimp rules; where it's boxing only, you wanna step in with the big boys...fight like the big boys. And, don't give him some set-up match or easy opponent. Prove a point! That being MMA is supreme to boxing...let's show the World. Let him fight Fedor, Cro Cop, Nog, or Barnett.

Ok, let it be know who we are talking about. Michael Gerard Tyson the youngest heavy weight champ in the world. I will say that he has don't some pretty dumb things, but we all have just you did not have the world watching you when you made yours. Plus "Cro Cop" and Mark Hunt have the skills to beat anyone on any given day, but to say the would eat Mike alive will that is a little much. I hope mike all the best in the world and I hope he knocks the crap out of the best Pride throws his way.:sport-smi

i disagree i really hope he goes into the ring and gets 7 shades of sh@t beat out of him, its about time tyson is exposed as the shadow of his former self that he is.

Dont get me wrong back in the day yes he was a hard hitter, but his day is over, his sport will soon be over and he really needs 3 things.

Mental help (he has serious underlying problems), a reality check so he will retire and quit making his "boxing" legacy look like a sham (the longer he hangs around the worse for his "boxing" history, note its only boxing as he in real life is a poor excuse for a human being), and finally he needs his ass kicked good and proper.

Im pretty sure they were being sarcastic when they said that, as they were making fun of the people who say Mike Tyson would dominate MMA.

Tyson, at least the post 80´s Tyson, hasn´t done well in a fight, whenever he gets hit hard. If you watch his fights, he does ok, until somebody pops him, then he always starts to back away, and all you see after that are a few single haymakers here and there, and the rest of the fight is Tyson getting poped. CroCop would be the worst opponent for him, seriously, first of all he would not be intimidated, as nobody is anymore of him, and secondly he would take it straight to him with Punches, Kicks and what not. Tyson would start losing control of himself and the fight, and just stand there like a punching bag getting tagged, until he folds up.

I believe they were making fun of Dana, who said that Tyson would have no chance in MMA, during the interview with O'Reilly on Fox.

Real Fighter just printed an article about boxers trying to make it into mma events. Boxers don't do well until they learn to check kicks and sprawl. Tyson believes in his one-punch style and this, in part, ruined his boxing career and will pre-ruin his mma career. I mean whose to say he'll even get off the chair between rounds? This guy doesn't want to fight anymore, he just wantsw the paycheck. He has lost his honor and doesn't even care if he's beaten to a pulp.

All in all I think signing Tyson is brilliant marketing for Pride. Tyson is more famous in North America than all of the UFC champs combined. There's a huge potential for publicity with this deal.

it does look like he is gonna fight so who does everyone think he should fight, please dont say fedor/crocop as they would destroy him, pick fighters who he could last afew minutes with in what looks like K-1 rules, i say tank, butterbean or cabbage.

That's not really uncommon. Plus I personally just don't care that much about Tyson. It would be a little interesting to see him in a boxing match but not something I'm dying to see.

If he is serious I would think he would like to work from the bottom up, and not go for some big name for the money right away. The first fight I think will decide if he is serious or not.

Ok, first off, my dumb things may not all be known to the general public, but I can tell you that I've never been in reform school, never been convicted of rape, never stated that I wanted to eat another man's babies, have never bitten another man's ear, and I have never smacked a woman around. So, that's a pretty big difference. Secondly, about the time Cro Cops left round house hits Mike, he'll wish he was still in prison being somebody's girl.

True that he is well known, but would you really want Tyson's name associated with your business? I think not.

I hope they don't give Tyson a boxing match. I don't think anyone will beat him. I say feed him to the sharks by allowing kicks, submissions, everything. I think Pride will do itself a huge marketing favor by having a fighter beat Tyson by submission.

yup, saw him on ppv. First thought that went through my head was: I wonder if he's interested. Like everyone else said so far, having Tyson fight mma and getting thrashed in the first round would publicize the sport further.
