Its going to be a boxing match, but I still think he'll still get beaten by most of the top fighters right now.

We hear from the grape-vine that Tyson has been trying his hand at the ground work (wrestling and some submission work). Its also been said that he's trained some on K1 type fighting in resent months. Apparently he didn't fair too well in any of these disciplines as he is bargaining for a "boxing only" fight.

I think you guys are deluding yourselves if you think anyone in MMA will destroy Tyson in a "boxing only match". I watch and love MMA but dont get it twisted Tyson's punching power will be evident really quick with the MMA gloves. Now if its a normal MMA fight of course he would lose. But if he learns to sprawl who knows....

Think about how much KO power Tyson throws around with those hands in regulation boxing gloves. Now imagine seeing him throwing those same savage uppercuts and overhand rights but in the tiny 4 oz mma gloves. If he even margionally connected with someone's head it would have a very good chance of KOing them. True, he will probably fight a boxing match and Id be interested in seeing that, but Id me much more interested in seeing him in an mma match.

I imagine Tank would jump at the chance of this fight. honestly Tank is a monster and he loves to brawl and thats excatly what he'd get fighting Tyson a Brawl. i'd pay PPV money to see just that fight.

I know a lot of people say that Tyson would get owned in an mma match due to him being primarily a boxer. Looking back on Tyson's career as a boxer, he was limited in what he could do in the ring to only striking with hands. Tyson has shown a propensity to push, tie up, shove, and numerous other tactics that arent supposed to be in boxing. Given more freedom in a match, such as an mma match would give him, I wouldnt be surprised at what he would do or try to do. I think it would make for a very entertaining show.

I don't think Mike really has much KO power anymore, not to say he can't knock somebody out, but the list of his latest opponents validates my point. However, nobody's going to beat him in a boxing match in Pride, barring somebody gets a one punch KO. Nobody in MMA has hands like Mike. This really pisses me off to be honest with you guys. All this is going to do is support what these boxing fanatics keep saying about MMA being inferior to boxing...and then those who don't truly know the sport will be mislead too. Put him in with Fedor, with regular Pride rules...and see what happens. Actually, just let Fedor box him, I was wrong about nobody in Pride beating Mike in a boxing Match...Fedor would do it.

Let's not kid ourselves. I have a lot of respect for Fedor, but noone in MMA will beat Mike Tyson in a boxing match. Period.

Besides that, Mike doesn't hit like he used to and Fedor hits HARD! Trigg's even said before that Fedor goes through Mike Tyson in his prime in 45 seconds...Mike would be in trouble with Fedor.

I like Aleksandor's chances in a standup fight with Tyson, regardless of the glove type. Seriously, if you take the ground game away, Aleksandor is as nasty as anyone in the world.

i don't like the idea of Tyson being part of MMA. its pretty obvious that he's only a sideshow. PrideFC is known for its fondness of oddities, maybe a Tyson vs. Giant Silva match is on tap?

i agree, tyson will only bring the sport down, the last thing MMA needs is the association with the likes of Tyson

I wouldn't mine seeing Tyson fight, depending on who he was matched up with.

The only thing with Tyson in MMA that im not liking is that they are taking away everything but striking. That is pathetic! If Tyson wants to be in MMA let him fight with the rest of the big boys.

i couldnt agree more....its more of an insult and lack of respect if he wants to have striking only (please tell me if im wrong here i briefly flicked threw this topic)
his ego was already hurt when he had to fight for money to pay off his debt
all he needs now is a good kickin lol...
he has had so much time out of the ring..i really dont think if he did had a striking fight...he cudnt bang with half the guys in MMA today

maybe this is part of PrideFC's plan to become a force in the USA. can you imagine how many people will buy into a PrideFC PPV with Tyson on it? people will just want to see if Tyson will do anything crazy again. people won't even have to know what PrideFC is, Tyson is in it!!! bad for the sport of MMA in general but probably good, at least initially, for PrideFC's wallet.
