2:26 p.m. Japanese time.

The Event has started, Arena is packed to the maximum of 50,000 or so. Takada just had Shogun and Yoshida and two other fighters wave some flags, with signatures on them and a bunch of kids were in the ring.

Ref´s are being introduced.

A huge screen is showing various past Pride fights from the first and second round with an opera song. Beautiful Cinematography.

Crowd is going wild.. the huge Pride finger is rotating.. the ring lights up. The fighters are being announced.

One by one all the fighters according to the line up are entering the Arena, walking down a long path. Big Nog enters last.

They are showing vidoes of Cyborg and Nishijima. It will be the first fight.

Evangelista Cyborg is entering the Arena to some Brasilian Hip Hop. Wearing a Brasilian flag, he is sporting a mohawk.

Nishijima Yosuke enters the Arena to some kind of Chinese Pulp Fiction Cowboy song.. wearing white shirt.

Both fighters are introduced

It´s on. Nishi comes out to the center of the ring, Cyborg unleashed a storm of Muay Thai Knees, now goes for the take down and gets it. Cyborg in half guard. Nishi has his head locked. He lets go.. now Cyborg is mounting Nishijima. Can´t really throw anything from the top, except a few light punches. Nishijima doing a good job keeping his punches away. Cyborg hammering down punches with his right now, Nishi gives up his back, Cyborg goes for the RNC. It´s over.

Cyborg wins by Rear Naked Choke in 3 minutes.

NEXT FIGHT

Mirko CROCOP VS WANDERLAI SILVA

2:52 p.m. Japanese Time

Wanderlai Silva enters the Arena! Wearing his Wand Gear in black to some soft techno.

2:53 p.m.

Mirko CroCop enters the Arena wearing black to Duran Duran´s "Wild Boys" looking very focused.

Wandy is jumping up and down pumped like always.

Both fighters are introduced. Crowd cheering for both fighters.

2:56 p.m.

IT`S ON!!!!!

Silva unleaches a series of punches, CroCop answers with the same, low kick by Mirko, both fighers going after each other.. CroCop is clearly going after him, Nice right.. CroCop gets the takedown, hammering Wanderlai in his guard. Ref restarts the figth standing. Crocop nails Wanderlai and drops him, now in his guard hammering down on him. Wanderlai is fighting for his life. Ref calls time and has the doctor check Wandy´s right eye, which is swollen hard.

Wandy is signaling that he is ready to fight, he gets cleaned up and is ready to go back in, but the doctors are looking skeptical checking his eyesight if he can follow the doctors hand movement.

Wandy is saying he can fight, and he gets sent back into the ring. It´s back on. Restarted in the center with CroCop in Wandy´s guard.

CropCop attempts some hammerpunches but Wandy is doing a good job keeping him from hitting him. Right by CroCop, light impact. Left hammerpunches, light. They are moving toward the ropes.. now right by the ropes. Crocop still in his guard. Ref breaks them, restarted standing. Wanderlai gets a yellow card.

Wandy with a combo, missed. Another combo, missed, CroCop answers with a hard kick to the ribs. Circling the ring now, pace, Wanderlai now with a few good right and lefts, CroCop with a left low kick, Wanderlai is hurt.

BOOM. CroCop drops Wanderlai with his trademark left highkick. Wanderlai is knocked out hard. OMG that was a ugly knock out, left kick right to the head. How many has CroCop dropped with this kick, another victim.

CroCops face also has some pretty big bruises on the right side, but this was truly a domination of striking ability.

NEXT FIGHT

Rodrigo Nogueira vs Josh Barnett

2:11 p.m. Japanese Time

Josh Barnett enters the Arena wearing he black Joshmeta shirt, to his Japanese cartoon music.

Big Nog enters the Arena to his Hip Hop Brasilian fight song. Wearing black BTT gear. Running to the ring.

What happend so far, both fighters came out in the center, Barnett tried to trade with Nog, Nog´s answered with a couple hard shot, more trading, Barnett dropped Nog with a hard left, after trading some knees. In his guard he couldn´t do much, rained some Ground and Pound on him, attempts to hail some punches down, couple landed hard. Nog was able to get back up, and then got the takedown himself. In the side mount Nog was hitting Barnett with some hard knees. Barnett eventually escaped, got up. Nog took him down again from the back. Both fighters tried to go for foot locks. The round ended with an armbar attempt by Nog, which almost was successful.

Round 2

Barnett goes for a Thai knee, Nog hold his knee, Barnett gets the takedown. Now in Nog´s closed guard. Barnett get´s up to rain some punches, but Nog is able to take Barnett down. Now in Barnett´s guard, hammering down right´s and left´s. Barnett doing a good job of avoiding too much punishment. Barnett now reverses and is untop Nog, under the ropes now, the fight gets restarted in the center. Same position.

Barnett again and again tried to stand over him and rain down a punch on Nog, but Nog is too smart and dangerous for this, and is able to get on Barnett´s back to choke him, Barnett get´s out, stands up and tries to stomp Nog, missed slightly, now in side mount. Both men have their legs locked in a half north south position. Barnett wants to leg bar him. Round is over.

They are going to the scorecards.. 2-1 for Josh by SD.

I think Nog clearly won the first round. Josh might have won the second, but it was NOT enough to get the decision.

NEXT FIGHT

KHARITONOV VS ALEKSANDER EMELIANENKO

3:41 p.m. Japanese Time

Aleksander Emelianenko enters the Arena wearing a red pride shirt, and an ERA type rap beat Opera song.

Sergei Kharitonov enters the Arena wearing a red Sergei shirt, sporting a three o´clock shade to Euro Techno.

Both fighters are announced.

3:45 p.m.

IT`S ON!!

Sergei with a left low kick, Aleks tries to take him down. Circling the ring, hard combo by Aleksander. Clinch. Against the ropes, center againm Aleks is aiming for Sergei´s head, nice combos. Center ring action, Aleks putting some nice hands out there, now a right flying knee, now trying to stick him from the outside. Sergei with two low kick attempts. Aleks manages to put him in a head lock. Get´s out, left by Sergei, both men cricling around the ring throwing punches. Sergei mounting Aleks now, with punches from the top, Aleks tries to throw him off him, but Sergei is holding on, keeping the mount. Sergei with some right´s to Alek´s head, Aleks hugging hard, throws Sergei off, now Sergei standing over him trying to rain down punches. Now in Alek´s guard. Alek´s holding down his head, Sergei with punches to the body. Break.

Fight is restarted in the center, standing. Aleks with a nice right jab, and now a right. Alek´s thigh is bruised hard. Both men now trading, Aleks dancing around the ring trying to make himself light, with the stick and move. Another hard low kick by Sergei, follow by a hard right. Aleks putting that jab out there, Sergei countering. Both men now trading, hard right by Aleks, takes Sergei down now, but Sergei seemed rocked.. Now on Sergei´s back, hitting him hard, another knee to his head, the fight is over TKO. Aleks TKO´s his former team mate in 8 minutes.

Damn, that was a tough fight, hard knuckle were being displayed here. Good fight Aleks, I knew you would do it.

NEXT FIGHT

LEE TAE HYUN vs. RICARDO MORAIS

3:57 p.m. Japanese Time

Ricardo Morais enters the ring to some P daddy song wearing black shorts and no shirt.

Lee Tae enters the ring wearing white to some weird song.

Both fighters are announced

4:01 p.m.

IT´S ON

Morais immediately tries to put those combos out there, hugging him now in the corner, Lee Tae gets the takedown, now in Morais guard. Morais is much bigger than Lee, good job Lee controling the fight from Morais´s guard, however he can´t land anything. Both men are fighting in the pool of blood Wandy left behind after getting knocked out by CroCop. Lee is basically happy to be in Morais guard. This is not going anywhere. Break. Yellow cards for both fighters. Nice right left´s by Morais followed by a hard knee now, Lee Tae looks rocked, hard right again by Morais, now in the corner. Lee hugging again trying to keep Morais from doing anymore damage, Morais is holding him with his left hand and trying to punch with the right, some uppercuts, but is obviously a bit tired , Lee gets the takedown now. Lee laying on Morais not moving due to stamina loss, and Morais is doing nothing. I smell another break soon.

Morais is able to over power Lee and gets back up, soccer kicking Lee in the head, put Lee incredibly is able Judo throw Morais on the mat, and is now on his back seeking a RNC. Now switched to North South, but Morais is able to get back up and the trading is back on. Both men are so tired that the punches are being thrown at 1 mph. This fight resembles Thomson vs Fujita right now. Morais being Thomson. They are so gassed that the action has come to a still stand. Time is called by the ref. Lee´s eye is swollen, he has the doctors look at it, if you ask me, the ref is trying to get the doctors to stop the fight, it´s not going anywhere, both men are dead tired.

It´s seem as if the fight might be over due to Lee being too exhausted. Yes, it´s over.

NEXT FIGHT

KAZUHIRO NAKAMURA vs. YOSHIHIRO KISS NAKAO

4:18 p.m. Japanese Time

Nakao enters the Arena to Tomoyasu Hotei´s Battle Without Honor Or Humanity from the movie Kill Bill.

Nakamura has two guys wearing huge blue penguins enter the Arena putting on a cartoon show or something. Nakamura enters wearing his traditional blue Gi. His mentor Yoshida in his corner of course.

Both fighters are announced.

4.23 p.m.

IT`S ON

Both fighters in the center, Nakao throws a nice combo and goes for the takedown, after a couple of second he gets it, they roll around a bit, but both standing again in the corner, with Nakao pressing him into the ropes. Nakamura with an inside knee. Break. To the center. Nakamura tried a right high kick, but slips, back up, both men trying to land a punch with their fists tight together. Nakamura with a foward knee to Nakao´s heard. Still stand in the center of the ring, Nakao is waiting to counter it seems. Not much happening, both fighters hesitant, Nakao now goes for a hard haymaker, missed. Nakamura with a thai knee attempt.

Center ring action again. Nakao is waiting to counter him it seems, Nakamura def. the agressor here with his knees. Nakao with a left kick to the hips, Nakamura answers with a short thai clinch and two knees. Goes for the knee again, overhand right by Nakao. Flying knee by Nakamura, no damage. Nakamura with a right high kick, blocked. Nakamura is really pressing the action here, but the fight is not going anywhere because Nakao is doing a good job from getting hurt.

Center action again, another thai knee by Nakamura, it seems as if he tried to pull Nakao down, Nakao now in his guard, now half guard. Controling Nakamura now with the right elbow. Some hammerpunch attempts , pressign that elbow down hard. Fight is under the ropes now, break.

Restart in the center of the ring. Same position. Nakamura escapes and both men standing in the corner, Nakao pressing himself into Nakamura. Break. Left highkick by Nakao, no damage. Goes for the takedown no success. Combination by Nakamura, partially blocked. Aganist the ropes now. Round is over.

Round 2

Nakao again looking as if he is only interested in counter punching, nice left now by Nakao, Nakamura now goes for the knee again, Nakao answers with a flurry of punches, no damage done. Ropes now, Nakamura leaning into Nakao. Center action again. Nakamura against with a right, which is blocked by Nakao, who is doing a good job blocking but doesn´t attempt too much on his own. Nakamura sees that his best weapon is the knee. Center action, nothing really happening. Finally Nakao gets a Yellow Card. Nakamura goes for another left high kick, misses and Nakao tries to go in with a combination, clinching now in the corner. Man this is a long fight.

Break, back to the center. 1.2 by Nakamura followed by a thai knee. Left overhand by Nakao, stops Nakamura in his tracks but didn´t do anything special, Nakamura again with the flying thai knee, trying to do something, anything, another high right kick followed by a blocked knee. This round is almost over, and I couldn´t be any more happier.

Round 3

Nakamura with combinations, Nakao tries to go for the takedown, doesn´t get it. Hard left hook by Nakao, his best shot of the fight. Right low kick by Nakamura. Clinch against the ropes again. Another Yellow card for Nakao. Nakamura is trying and trying, but nothing hurts this rock, and Nakao is being boring. Fight is almost over, thank god. This should be an easy UD for Nakamura. Now Nakao is going with in with some wild hooks, Nakamura with another thai knee attempt. Hard right to Nakamura´s chest, but basically wild punches by Nakao. Fight is over.

Going to the scorecards. UD for Nakamura, and I hope I never see Nakao again.

NEXT FIGHT

MAURICIO SHOGUN VS THE SNAKE ( Whoever that is, never seen him before)

5:02 p.m. Japanese Time.

We are still on a break. The fights should resume shortly, we are already 3 hours into the event. The finalists will be Mirko CroCop vs Josh Barnett, Fedor´s brother Aleksander TKO´ed Kharitonov, Nishijima lost to Cyborg Santos, Morai sbeat Lee Tae Hyun and Nakamura just beat Nakao.

5:09 p.m.

Fight is starting soon.

5:16 p.m.

Patience.. it will resume in a few minutes. We still got this fight, Arona vs Overeem and the Final of the tournament ahead of us.

5:22 p.m.

I don´t know what´s going on, I don´t understand a word, but Akihiro Gono and Gomi just entered into the ring, I guess they are going to speak about the next and final Bushido tournament round. Gono is wearing his red clown afro and cracking jokes I guess. Now Gomi is taking the mic.

5:30 p.m.

The Snake enters the Arena to Rave music. Maybe he is a fan of Jake "The Snake" Roberts. From the few words I catch here and there it seems as if he is a Muay Thai champion from France.

Shogun enters the Arena to Techno wearing his standard black shorts and black and white sponsor shirt.

Both fighters are announced.

5:35 p.m. Japanese Time

IT`S ON!!!

Left high kick by Snake, blocked. Flying knee attempt by snake blocked by Shogun who also missed a roundhouse. Shogun in Snakes guard now, Snakes attempts to reverse it, but Shogun sticks on him like glue. Now in side mount with knees to the ribs. Snake manages to get out, Shogun goes immediately for the takedown again, sensing the snakes stand up is not exactly bad. Shogun now in Snakes half guard. Snake locking his leg, Shogun gets his leg out and goes back to side mount. Shogun now standing throws a kick while Snake escapes the side mount. Snake with incredible long legs. Shogun goes for the clinch again and gets the takedown. Against side mount with elbows on Snakes back. Shogun gets up goes for a soccer kick but leaves it, while taking side mount again, but now standing stomping snake hard. Fight is over, Shogun stomped Snake out.

Ouch. Shogun is back. Shogun takes the mic and says a few words, I am sure it has something to do with his injury and being back now, word to his fans, I hear the word America, hinting to his next fight at Pride 32 " The Real Deal".

NEXT FIGHT

RICARDO ARONA VS ALISTAIR OVEREEM

5:47 p.m. Japanese Time

Alistair Overeem enters the Arena with his usual Euro Techno music, wearing a black shirt and his orange trunks. Looking focused.

Ricardo Arona enters to Brasilian Rap or wearing blue BTT gear.

Both fighters are announced.

5:52 p.m.

IT`S ON!!!

Overeem stalking Arona, Arona with some low kicks, missed. Left jab by Arona, missed. Arona cutting the ring looking for that one punch to take Arona out, but brings his thai knee instead, Arona fights him off, and we are backing to cutting off the ring. Arona with a Rock hard left low kick which puts Overeem on his back. Arona now in Overeem´s guard, now standing, Overeem is able to kick him off , but Arona now in side mount. Moving towards the ropes, Arona with a hard knee to Overeem´s head, Overeem now giving up his back to Arona, while Arona unleashes another left knee to his head, Arona now on Overeem´s back. Overeem on his knees while Arona hits him from the top, on his back. Now going for the RNC, but is not able to apply it, goes back to hitting him with punches from the side. Something happened, Overeem taps out. The fight is over, Overeem got hurt somehow.

Looking at the replay, it seemed as if Overeem was hurt from those shots that came from above. Not the best thing to do, giving up your back to a former ADCC Champion like Arona, who also put Overeem down with a rock hard left low kick. Respect.

Mikro CroCop vs. Josh Barnett.

6:00 p.m. Japanese time.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we are about to witness the final of the GP.

A highlight reel is being played about CroCop and Barnett, showing their previous fights of the evening.

Mirko CroCop is announced and comes into the Arena to Duran Duran´s "Wild Boys" raising his hands high. CroCop seems to be exploding with confidence, his face has traces of Wanderlai´s punches, but he looks good. I don´t know how Barnett wants to defend himself against this killing machine.

Josh Barnett enters the Arena, to his Japanese Cartoon music singing to it´s lyrics, his face scared blue from the fight between him and Rodrigo Nogueira.

The national anthem of Croatia is being played. I know the only thing in CroCop´s mind right now is to get that belt, establishing him as the second best fighter in the world and get his second shot at the king.

National anthem of the Unites States of America is being played, Barnett´s face looks jacked up, but I doubt it will take any concentration from him, he has proven himself to be a top fighter in Pride, rivaled by nobody except CroCop right now.

Takada enters the ring, reading something from a black book. CroCop just wants to get this on, walking back and forth like a panther in the ring. Barnett looks cool and relaxed. The fighters are announced, some shots of Big Nog in the crowd.

6:12 p.m

IT`S REALLY ON!!!!

Barnett goes for a heavy right, CroCop manages to move around him, Barnett is jabbing, goes for the clinch, CroCop defends, and throws a very hard right kick to the liver, which stuns Barnett. Again a heavy right by Mirko rocking Barnett, who throws a low kick to signal he is still here, Barnett is getting caught now by Mirko, clinch, goes for some knees, but can´t stand the pressure Mirko is putting on him, and drops to the ground. Mirko goes into his guard, the fight is stopped due to a cut over CroCop´s right eye. Most likely from Barnett´s knee.

Cut is not deep, the fight is back on the ground. CropCop now with a hammer left on Barnett. Barnett holding his neck down, CropCop with a double Hammerpunch, but Barnett is defending good. It ´s seems as if Barnett is going for some kind of submission, but won´t be able to get it from this postion, but hinting it maybe an armbar. CroCop still in his guard, trying to release his hands to rain down some punches, but Barnett is holding on good, Now CroCop gets up, but Barnett knows how to work his arms not to get hit. CroCop is standing now, the ref breaks, and restarts. Barnett with another hard right low kick, and high kick attempt. CroCop with two very hard uppercuts. Barnett with a low kick again. Mirko with a hard right uppercut, Barnett brushes it off, and goes for another right hook, clinching him now.

CroCOp nails Barnett with a hard upper cut to his right rib, which drops Barnett, CroCop now in side mount hailing down hammer punches, switches into Barnett´s guard,and is pounding him. Barnett goes for an armbar, but doesn´t get it. Man he can take somepunishment. CroCop now seems to catch his breath a bit, then going raining down another hard right. Barnett fights him off, but CroCop drops a hard right down on Barnett who screams out of pain holding his right eye. The Fight is over, Mirko CroCop is the Absolute GP Champion 2006.

Finally, CroCop gets a belt. A well deserved belt, trainwrecking through the HW division, only to get stopped by Fedor, he has once again shown the world that he IS the second best fighter in the world. I truly believe after this performance, that nobody is a match for CroCop except Fedor. Since CroCop is the Pride Absolute GP Champion now, he will get another title shot at Fedor later this year.

6:28 p.m. Japanese Time

Takada is reading out the ceremony, and now handing him a check for 20 Million Yen. CroCop is pointing to the Belt, he can´t wait to get it put around his waist. That´s allot of gold right there. As the belt is placed around his waist, CroCop starts to shed tears of joy.

Barnett now takes the mic, saying he knew it was going to be a tough fight, and feels he lost to a very respectable OP champion. Drops some more words in Japanese and gets the cheers. His face looks like a mess, he can hardly open his eyes.

CroCop takes the mic while Happy Birthday from Stevie Wonder is playing. I don´t know if it´s his birthday. He says a words in Croatian, then says in english that this is the happiest day in his life, and it´s his 32nd birthday.

The crows is stunned by the performance these two guys displayed tonight, nothing but respect for these two gentlemen as they stand there posing for the pictures with their faces scarred.

End of Broadcast.

I hope everybody enjoyed the play by play, those who saw the event know how great the GP was, and those who are going to watch it later tonight, are in for a spectacular treat. Please excuse any spelling errors or typos.

Thats what I was thinking...after a fight like that it makes you wonder just how much he can have left in the fuel tank. Also, it doesnt help that Cro Cop had a pretty easy match...

Im hoping Aleksander pulls out a win here...got some points on him.
