For me to sum it up I would say:
Horrible show, to many introductions.
Great fights.

No kidding!!!!! The whole Coleman thing with his kids crying as they cringed when Marc brought them over to Fedor had ROCKY written all over it!!!! Great payouts though. UFC should take note.

The number of attendance looks good but I think UFC's attendance is larger, correct me if I am wrong.
Well I hope there will be more people watching this event cause the fights was Great....
|
Yes the UFC's attendance in the USA is usually more than Pride's first USA show. But the paid attendance is about the same. Not bad for a lot of people not even knowing what they were going to see. Should only get better once people get used to them having shows.

Pride pay vs. UFC pay!!
Taken from the Pride forum
- Robbie Lawler $50,000
- Joey Villasenor $35,000
- Kazuhiro Nakamura $105,000
- Travis Galbraith $10,000
- Phil Baroni $97,000
- Yosuke Nishijima $25,000
- Dan Henderson $125,000
- Vitor Belfort $75,000
- Eric Esch $50,000
- Sean O'Haire $15,000
- Josh Barnett $125,000
- Pawel Nastula $40,000
-Mauricio Rua $130,000
-Kevin Randleman $60,000
- Fedor Emelianenko $1,070,000
-Mark Coleman $82,000
Why would anyone want to fight in the UFC after these numbers? Even Sean Ohaire made 15K for GETTING KO'd in 29 sec?!!

I read somewhere that capacity was reduced to 15,000 and 10,000 attended.

Wow, what a difference. I'd heard that Pride pays better, but it's a revelation to see how much better. Good for them, I hope for the UFC fans and fighters' sake this shakes things up.

lol Butterbean made 50000$ for 30 seconds of work. Fedor got over a million for 7 or 8 minutes. Compared too some people who get 5000$ in the UFC for winning a war for a match. I love the UFC but they need too respect the fighters more.

i saw this post on Sherdog last night and alot of people were discrediting this report. because of when it came out from the poster on Sherdog and when it usually comes out from the NSAC. i dont really know one way or another but some guys made some really good arguments as to why this report my be false.

To me the film they use seems odd. I'm no film buff or anything it just doesn't seem crisp, more grainy. It gives off a really foreign feel to it (I know it is). The white ring I think has a lot to do with it.

Could it be that you aren't used to it? I'm just assuming this is the first PPV you've seen so correct me if I'm wrong and I apologize if I am. I don't think it's amazing or anything but nothing worse than a UFC PPV, and I know they both have minor problems like in the last UFC there were many technical problems here and there but I wouldn't go as far to say it was horrible. If you want to talk horrible production then you can mention KOTC and I won't disagree.

In defense of KOTC, they truly run off of a shoe-string budget. They are lucky to have any PPV events at all. But, I do like KOTC. Just not for the production values. As for PRIDE 32, I thought they had good production values. I have complained about them in the past, but they seem to be spending more money to get it right. They definately improved on their camera work and directing (yes, PPV events have a director).

I thought it was great, and hope more people think so too. I wonder how many PPV's were purchased? If PRIDE FC stays, more fighter will go over to PRIDE because of the pay, and some of the others will have to up the pay too.

Oh I know. I guess I did sound a bit harsh. I didn't mean to sound like I was bashing them. I support them and everything and don't care about them putting on a flashy show. I was just saying that is an example of low quality production, not the UFC or Pride. They both have had their ups and downs but I don't think either one should be called horrible. But that's just my opinion. I've never had any problems with them.
