Vitor/Natsula test positive
BREAKING NEWS: MMAWeekly has learned that Vitor Belfort and Pawel Nastula tested positive for banned substances after their respective fights on Pride's "Real Deal" card this past Saturday night in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission has confirmed that Nastula tested positive for the anabolic steroid nandrolone, while Belfort tested positive for the banned substance 4-hydroxytestosterone, which is also banned in Major League Baseball and other sports.
All of the other fighters who were drug-tested on the Pride card passed their drug tests.
MMAWeekly will have much more on this story within the hour.

I don't really know too much about 4-hydroxytestosterone, but it was at one point OTC.
As for Deca (nadrolone), it only has a half life of 6 days.. Pawel, if you are going to cycle, don't do it a week before the fight!

Wow indeed.
I thought nandrolone stayed in the system a long time. I remember a few soccer players getting caught from that, and that's what they said then.
Disappointing news.

One thing I have wondered about is how do they determine who gets to keep the W and who gets a NC after getting caught juicing? Like when Sylvia beat McGee it has stood as a W but say for instance when Hoffman KO'd Robinson the result was overturned to a NC.

From what I understand, if the winner of a fight tests positive, the fight is ruled a no contest.. so I am confused too/

Vitor and Nastula are probably the two guys, that PRIDE would have preferred to get busted (if they had to) though.
Nastula is not getting any younger and Vitor isn't getting anywhere it seems. And he gets a decent paycheck too surely.
Personally, I wish we would have seen the Wandy-Vitor rematch. Not happening.

Steroids have been a part of every sport for a while now. MMA is not and has not ever been pure. It's just younger so there aren't as many cases. It's not that surprising people.

Belfort Tested Positive for Roids
For some reason the NSAC disovered after the fight at the Real Deal event that Vitor Belfort tested positive for 3 steroid based banned substances according to Sherdog.com.
I really hope MMA around the world clamps down on this because to me, that's it. If you're roiding up, all your wins are null and void. Look how ineffective Baroni was when he was suspended by the UFC for steroids a few years back. After his suspension, he came back and got choked out rather easily and his facial experessions (without the steroids in his system), was like a deer in the headlights while he was in the cage.
Compared to his days when he wasn't caught, he was a beast in the cage.
Steroids is cheating IMO.. Plain and simple! Without them? You're nothing as a fighter.

And once they get caught and can't use anymore, when they come back they lose.
Look at Baroni. A prime example. Once the UFC busted him, he came back after he was clean, then lost miserably.

Baroni has never been caught juicing. And he has been mildly successful in Pride.

I've also noticed the guys who have been caught are guys who wouldn't "look the part" of a juicier. Nastula, Belfort, Sylvia, and Bonnar aren't exactly "jacked up" looking(Belfort is toned but not huge looking I mean).
