Pride's next show
is shaping up to be a good one in my eyes.... this was reported by mmaweekly.com
Pride has announced via its official website more match-ups for its upcoming second show in Las Vegas on February 24th. In addition to the main event featuring Wanderlei Silva versus Dan Henderson for Pride's 205-pound title, the organization has added several more marquee fights to the card.
Pride Lightweight Champion Takanori Gomi will make his Las Vegas debut when he takes on former UFC mainstay, Nick Diaz. This will be the first fight at 160lbs for Diaz, who has fought the majority of his career at welterweight. The bout is a non-title contest but should be a phenomenal match-up between two of the most exciting fighters in the world. Diaz won the last two fights on his UFC contract before signing with both EliteXC and Pride.
Also on the card will be former UFC welterweight contender and current ICON sport middleweight champion and Pride color commentator Frank Trigg, as he steps up to face Pride Grand Prix winner, Kazuo Misaki. This bout will be the second fight for Trigg in the organization that hired him most recently as a color commentator. His opponent, Misaki, is the #4 Middleweight in the MMAWeekly Rankings. The former co-host of MMAWeekly Radio will make an appearance on Tuesday’s show to talk about his bout with Misaki at Pride 33.
Kazuhiro Nakamura will have his second tour in the Pride ring in America when he takes on former UFC and IFL standout, Travis Wiuff. Nakamura, who is currently ranked #9 at light heavyweight in the MMAWeekly Rankings, was successful in his first fight in the U.S. against Travis Galbraith and this fight will surely be another tough test for the young Judoka.
Pride also confirmed one other fight on its Japanese web site. As previously reported by MMAWeekly's Mick Hammond, former King of the Cage Lightweight Champion Mac Danzig will make his Pride debut against Hayato "Mach" Sakurai, who is the #2 lightweight fighter in the world according to the MMAWeekly Rankings.
Pride 33 will take place on February 24th at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas and will air live on pay-per-view in the United States.

Not gonna arouse the US fans too much with this card.

They could do so much better than that.
And great, another non-title fight for Gomi.

Sadly the only fight that really interests me is Silva vs Henderson. I think Diaz, Trigg and Danzig are all in for a beatdown.

I think Diaz is tough and skilled, but Gomi is next-level. He's in a rare class of fighter. Diaz may have the edge in BJJ, but Gomi's a far superior wrestler and striker, and he's in his house while Diaz is the new kid in town. I'll be putting all my points on Gomi.

when have you ever seen diaz quit or back down... i think he is going to keep pyshing gomi and gomi is going to keep hitting him in the face... then its a matter of if nick can take them all and not drop (not likly) and capitalize! i think it should be a great fight....

I cant say anything on that card really interests me. If I buy it it will be just because of Wandy.

I was hoping this fight was gonig to be good but on paper it's mediocre. War diaz, and I'm getting sick of pride not putting gomi's belt on the line and wandy fighting guys not in his division.

Diaz
I like the fact that coming in to Pride, Diaz is not goint to fight a can or would need to be "build up" or crap like that ... but is instead fighting a high caliber opponent already.
Suck thought about the non-tittle match AGAIN .... umm

Yup, I am sick of Gomi's non title fights too. I will be rooting for Diaz in this one. I do think Trigg could pull off a win and I would love to see Hendo beat Wandy but it's not likely.

gomi has a lot to lose in this fight... nick not so much... first fight in a ring in a while... fighting in a different weight class... fighting best in that weightclass... all vaild reason to not do well in a fight... gomi doesnt win its going to be huge imo

I agree.
Althought in the MMA Weekly rumor section, this is the remaining matches that are listed ...
-Ricardo Arona (#4 Light Heavyweight)* vs. TBA
-Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (#5 Light Heavyweight)* vs. TBA
-Kazuyuki Fujita vs. TBA
-Cung Le vs. TBA
-Wes Sims vs. TBA
I'm very curious to see who Big Nog is going to fight?

How can you be disappointed about Lil' Nog. He hasn't fought in awhile now and I'm excited to see him return.

THey used to have Shogun on their rumors for this card, but they took him off. I'm also intrested in seeing the Cung Le fight.

I agree with most..this card sounds OK, not great. I have a feeling Nakamura and Wiuff will be awful, probably because Nakamura's fight with Shogun at Shockwave was so bad.
