I still think that the travle time and jet lag may have played a part in some of the performences tonight. It might not have but its still somehting to think about.... |

He is the first MMA fighter to hold two divison belts at once. Randy Couture also had championships in two UFC division, but not at once.

The drawback is now the title fights for the MW and WW will be far and few between. Pride's track record for having title fights period is lacking, now it will be worse.

One thing I would say is that I believe jet lag is a moot argument. The fighters have all been in Vegas for a full week with all the open workouts they've been showing, training and acclimizing to the time changes and jet lag. That's more than enough time generally speaking. And if that is the case, would that prevent Pride veterans from wanting to fight in the US events?
Additionally, the Brazilians like Silva and Nog are always going from Brazil to Japan to fight, a much further trip and across more timezones than Brazil to the US. Never seemed to affect them over there.
