I still think gomi wasn't gomi, he's got this
This is Hansen's year. He's going to tear it up. And hopefully Diaz will if he participates but as Gygax said it's highly unlikely he will. But man I loved seeing Diaz humiliate Gomi. I wish I could have been around to talk crap to all the haters that always talked crap about him.
I don't see many people talk crap about his skills. It's his terrible attitude and poor sportsmanship that causes people bad mouth him. And even then, i see a lot more fans than haters.
Wingo!
Hmm...I seem to remember a different attitude after he lost to Diego. As a big Diaz supporter I heard a lot of crap. Then his "loss" to Riggs and losing a close one to Sherk didn't help either. But yeah I know there are some people who just don't like him because of his attitude but if you think no one has talked crap about his skills that's a little off base.
I don't know Jonny. I can't remember too many absolutely slamming his skills. I'm probably one of his biggest detractors around here, but all because of his garbage attitude. And I stand by that now as well.
Of course, my memory could be completely shot, so what do I know. LOL
That was a while ago, i might just not remember. And yea, my memory isn't the best either lol. So i'll take your word on it.
Wingo!
I'll tell ya it was ridiculous all the "he lost to some reality tv fighter" and how he can't back up his mouth bs. But I think Diego has proven that he's not just some pampered kid who the UFC just wants to milk the popularity. I don't like the guy but I know he's a threat to some if not most and will be the future of the division same as I said about Diaz a long while ago and still believe today.
ive always been a fan of Diaz. his mouth has made him a lot of enemies but u cant question his skill and toughness.
I dont know why people keep makin excuses for Gomi, he hit Nick with everything but the kitchen sink. More credit should go to Nick for being able to take a beatin and still win.
Yes, I do enjoy my avatar that much.
Fedor, Wand, Chuck, Shogun, BJ,
No doubt. Nick took that shot that would have put anyone out for the count and he recovered quickly and continued pummelling Gomi once he shook it off. I loved seeing pure boxing techniques utilized efficiently in a MMA match.
Yes i was under the impression that there would be some UFC fighters aswell. Anyone know for sure?

No, but now that it's been put off for a bit, there's more time to work that out. I haven't actually heard a word about the winner of TUF5 getting a shot at the LW title--has anyone else? Maybe they'll put the winner in the bottom tier of the LWGP.
That would be pretty cool. But I don't think its feasible that the TUF 5 winner would be able to fight in the finale on June 23rd and the first round on July 16th.
BTW, I've been meaning to bring this up. A few weeks ago, I brought up the fact that the Unified Rules of MMA say nothing about not allowing two fights in one night. A few people told me I was completely wrong and how there was no way that the Pride GPs would have the semi-finals and finals.
Now the delay. If Pride wants to crown the champ this year, they almost have to make the semi-finals and finals in the same night. July for the 1st round, September for the quarterfinals, and November for the semifinals and finals. Now add this to the equation. This past weekend, the NSAC sanctioned a two round MMA lightweight tournament in the small promotion of Tuff-N-Uff in Las Vegas. They did utilize the Unified Rules of MMA. The only change they made was shortening the rounds to 3 minutes as opposed to 5. This is proof that the Unified Rules say nothing about limiting the number of fights a fighter can participate in on a given day. Being that the Pride LWGP would occur in Japan with their sanctioning (or lack of), it will be no problem to use the Unified Rules as is the want of Zuffa and still have multiple fights in a night. Being that its in Japan, they could keep the 5 minute rounds as well.
Just more thoughts about the potential for this event.
Why in the world would they change the rules for Pride Japan.. I just donīt get it. If it ainīt broke, donīt fix it.
Your suffering will be legendary, even in Hell!
