Josh Barnett back in Pride !!
Source : http://www.puroresupower.com/
Thats something exciting to think about, Say CroCop takes care of business , that would be a great title fight between Barnett vs. CroCop II, finally settle the score... ewww weeeeee thats why Pride sells out 45,000 +

Barnett is the best American Heavyweight out there. I would love to see him in the Heavyweight GP. I was just thinking, we thought the 05 GP was good, imagine the 06! WE would have Big Nog, Fedor, Crocop, Hunt, Sergei, Barnett, a UFC rep (Arlovski/Buentello), etc. Stacked talent.

Kinda funny how they're gonna throw him a title fight right off the bat like that when others have been so active. I know he's been nursing the injury but he's been well enough to be in the Japanese pro wrestling ring. Whatever, I guess poor Sergei will have to wait for his turn even longer.

I totally agree. I always enjoy seeing the guy fight. Even when Pedro put him down he looked impressive. That is one of my favorite fights. Very good stand up war. Anyway I can't wait to see him in Pride, just another addition to make the HW division that much better. I wish Arlovski would come fight in Pride. Though I don't think he will be unstoppable that is what the sitaution is now. There is no one who can beat Arlovski in UFC HW division. He needs to come to Pride for some real challengers.

Barnett will be back, and he deserves it. Anyone know what Arlovski's contract with UFC is?

It wont be a title fight I bet. I mean look at how many title fights Fredor has done compared to the aumont of fights as champion.

Barnett will no doubt shake things up in Pride
I dont think the UFC should send any more reps to Pride, they have already proven that the UFC has the skills to take on any Pride fighters
Baroni is a clear example of that hes taken out 2 of Prides best
Liddell has also proven himself as a UFC rep
Its time for Pride to send over some reps, and see how they handle the Cage

I'm not talking about Arlovski as a rep. I'm talking about him signing to Pride to fight some real HW's. Baroni is a Pride fighter. Not a UFC rep, and he has not faced the best yet. Not to discount him because he does have skills. He left UFC on a bad note. Looking horrible against Tanner, that doesn't make him a bad fighter though. Still Phil has quite a bit of competition left. You are basing an entire organization of fighters off of Chuck Liddell and Vitor (who lost to Alistair while fighting as a UFC rep, but Vitor apparently is Pride now). Just because Chuck has had a couple wins in Pride doesn't mean "the UFC is ready to take on any Pride fighter"

since vitor is in pride now i want silva to get revenge. a lot of pride fighters have experience in the cage. Jackson started at Kotc and vovchenchin has russian cage fighting too. i think vovchenchin would dominate the ufc. he can definatly trade with chuck

Igor @ 205 would beat everyone in the UFC lhw div. Then he'd put on 20-25 pounds and beat everyone in the hw div.
In short, Igor is the man.

I remember when people used to think when a person has a shorter reach that it was a disadvantage.
Then you see Igor knock out like every opponent he comes across and you just have to wonder, how much does it matter REALLY?

It really dosent have that big of an advantage in MMA as it would in Boxing because there are so many ways to get close to your opponent perhaps go for the take down and not let your opponent utilize the reach as for in boxing your best hope is to get inside and land some uppercuts remanising of a late 80's Tyson.

Reach is always an advantage. Some fighters are just really good at getting inside. Look at Tim Silvia.

Dude listen Baroni faught in the UFC and went over to PRIDE and recked house, so you see what i mean past or present UFC fighters can hang in PRIDE any day of the week
Arlovski's in my mind will most likley be offered the biggest contract in UFC history, No way Dana Whites gonna let Arlovski sign with PRIDE

It has nothing to do with UFC or Pride. It has to do with good skilled fighters. Both organizations have them. The point I was making was that you said UFC is ready to take on any Pride fighter. Which I think is ridiculous. Also I am pretty sure Pride could offer more money than Dana could ever afford. Not saying that would happen but it very easily could. It all depends on what Arlovski wants. It doesn't matter. Pride will still make money if they don't get him and Dana will still make money even if he lets Arlovski leave. He doesn't depend on him for the money. Sure he gives great fights but so do a lot of other fighters in UFC.
