F1>NASCAR.
I think it's cool that 3 different guys can still theoretically win the championship in the last race of the season.
Unfortunately, my fellow Finn, Kimi Raikkonen, has the smallest chance of them.
But maybe the McLaren-guys could fight each other out of the race, and my glorious nation would have its third F1 world champ.

SPOILERS ABOUT THE LAST GP...
HOLY ****!!!
Amazing.
I'm so glad I went to the pub to watch this one, even though I really had no expectations of Kimi taking it.
Kimi won the last race, his toughest opponents came in 3rd and 7th, which meant he BEAT BOTH OF THEM WITH ONE POINT.
Hamilton started screwing up right away.
Clearly his nerves had a lot to do with it. The way he messed up in the previous race too.
Rosberg and Kubica had me going nuts in the last laps. They were pretty close to touching each other a couple times, and that would have given Hamilton the championship.

wow, gotta feel for Hamilton. I Thought he had it in the bag, but when your engine cuts on you and then your crew doesnt fill the tank what you gonna do...
Ye he screwed up at the start, but he was still gonna win it without the car problems.

I think his problems were with transmission.
And maybe they had something to do with how he went off the course a couple times.
I don't think the pit strategy had any effect really.
But he can still get the championship because both BMW and Williams can get disqualified now, which would give him the 4th place in the race.
Talk about an anticlimactic end to the season.

Ye that could have caused it but still, for a technical error to lose you nearly 30 seconds, thats VERY unlucky. Wasn't as though he crashed or the car took any impact. Like I said, without problems out of his control I think he would definitely have won it.
Heard about the poss disqualification. Something about their fuel being tested. Not sure though. Ye that would be a bit of a **** way to end the season, would rather Hamilton prove to everyone what he is capable of next year.

The BMW Sauber and Williams teams have escaped penalty after being investigated by Brazilian Grand Prix stewards over fuel irregularities on their cars at the end of Sunday’s Interlagos race.
Under Formula One racing’s technical regulations fuel temperatures are not allowed to fall more than 10 degrees Celsius below ambient air temperature at any time. According to FIA data, Williams and BMW Sauber exceeded this range during the race, but after lengthy deliberations stewards chose not to impose sanctions.
However, McLaren are expected to appeal the stewards' decision, which if overturned could have serious implications for the 2007 drivers' championship.
Nico Rosberg finished fourth for Williams, with Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld fifth and sixth respectively for BMW Sauber. If they were to be disqualified, Lewis Hamilton would move up to from seventh to fourth, giving him enough points to beat Kimi Raikkonen to the title.

snippet from BBC, FIA has all but said this season is in the books from what they are saying, little info on the fuel here.
...
Excluding the Williams and BMW Sauber cars would have risked turning one of the most exciting championship finales in F1 history into a farce.
But the stewards had the power to disqualify them, even though the advantage conferred would have had no bearing on the title race.
The total advantage for each car over the race distance was almost certainly no more than a second.
The FIA said Heidfeld's fuel was 13C lower than ambient at his first stop and 12C lower at his second.
Kubica's varied by 14C, 13C and 13C at his three stops, while Rosberg's was 13C and 12C out at his two stops.
Filling the car with cooler fuel can give a performance advantage.
Cooler fuel is denser, so either it can mean it takes slightly less time to refuel the car or marginally more can be added in the same time.
And it would give a slight power advantage for about three laps before it returned to ambient temperature out on the track.
There is some form of precedent not to exclude the cars.
In 1995, the Benetton-Renault of Michael Schumacher and the Williams-Renault of David Coulthard were initially disqualified from first and second places in the Brazilian Grand Prix because their fuel did not conform to samples approved by the FIA.
But a week later the FIA reinstated the drivers' points but docked the teams their constructors' points.
In that case, though, no advantage was gained by the irregularity.
The seven-time Formula One world champion took over from his taxi driver in order to make it to the airport in time for a flight, it has emerged. Cabbie Tuncer Yilmaz watched in awe as the racing legend, 38, showed him how his job ought to be done.
"I found myself in the passenger seat, which was strange enough, but to have 'Schumi' behind the wheel of my cab was incredible," Mr Yilmaz told German newspaper the Muenchner Abendzeitung.
Schumacher, who lives in Switzerland, had flown in to an aerodrome near Coburg, Bavaria, on Saturday and taken a taxi to Gehuelz to pick up a new puppy.
On the 30km (19 mile) return journey, however, Schumacher felt they were short on time, and made a polite request to Mr Yilmaz that he be allowed to take over.
Unsurprisingly, and perhaps with a view to bettering himself professionally, the driver did so.
With his wife, two children and new addition to the family Ed, the Australian Shepherd pup, on board, Schumacher proceeded to put pedal to metal.
Famously, German autobahns have no blanket speed limits, so the driver was able to put the cab through its paces.
Although he was driving an Opel Vivaro, a minivan-style vehicle which has a top speed of 163km (101 miles) per hour, Schumacher managed to get the most out of it, according to the cabbie.
"He drove at full throttle around the corners and overtook in some unbelievable places," said a white-knuckled Mr Yilmaz.
The retired champion gave the taxi driver a generous 100 euro (71.76 pounds) tip on top of the 60 euro fare.
Despite helping out as a test driver at old team Ferrari, Schumacher has ruled himself out of any return to Formula One.

Argh, looks like Kovalainen won't be the one replacing Alonso at McLaren.
I would have loved that.
But McLaren apparently needs to please its Spanish sponsors and let De La Rosa take that spot.

De La Rosa's recent past seems too tainted with the spy scandal to want to give him that job. I heard the reason Kovalainen didnt replase Alonso is because there may have been another situation as we saw the past year, inter-team rival.
To me, that sounds like McLaren is willing to do anything to get Hamilton that trophy rather than run an all around top knotch team. I wonder where Hekki will end up? Please dont say Super Aguri.. I still don't know why they replaced him with Nelson Piquet Jr..
