Harms' NFL Picks
Usually I just post my picks in the betting thread, but I would like some something easier to keep track of my picks instead of clicking a bunch of threads. I will do the whole NFL on a Thurs. or Fri. regardless of what Jras puts up to bet. Feel free to comment on my picks and tell me yours.
I went back and I am 12-5 on my picks that I posted. If I didn't hate on the Pats so much I would be 14-3.

That's ok I hate on the Pats too.
This is a great idea, and I'll be sure to tell you which picks I agree with and which ones I don't, although I'm not usually to great at picking teams, cause I always seem to go with the teams I WANT to win and not the teams that I actually think WILL win.

That is my problem with betting on the fights. I've been incredibly busy, but I will do my best to have my picks posted Sat. morning.

Alot of close games this week, so this could be rough.
Giants vs. Dolphins
Yes, it sucks that they have to play in London. But don't feel too bad Giant and Fin fans, every NFL team has to play overseas eventually. Jet lag and whatnot could be a factor for both teams, but the Dolphins are horrible especially now that Ronnie Brown, who was looking really good, is out for the season with a knee injury. Giants are on a roll.
Giants 24 Dolphins 10
Steelers vs Bengals
A win over the Jets doesn't make the Bengals a good team. Unfortunately for them, the Steelers are. Look for the Steelers to torch the Bengals poor defense.
Steelers 34 Bengals 17
Texans vs. Chargers
The Texans are the team I am most familiar with. Johnson still is doubtful with the Texans, but the Texans receivers have been picking up the slack. The Chargers have had to practice in Arizona cause of the fires. The fires have also affected many of the Chargers players. The Chargers have been one big disappointment this year. Look for the disappoinment to continue and the fire have an effect on the Chargers.
Texans 29 Chargers 24
Colts vs Panthers
The Colts are undefeated and the Panthers are possibly platooning Vinny and Carr. I know Vinny led the Panthers to a victory last week, but the honeymoon is over. I forsee a huge Colts win to set up the epic battle of undefeateds next week.
Colts 37 Panthers 20
Patriots vs. Redskins
I like Washington's chances, but the Pats have proven me wrong everytime I pick against them. Patriots should be looking to make a statement going into the Colts game next week.
(On a side note, aren't the Redskins one of the most offensive names in sports. The Washington Bullets changed their name cause they thought that Bullets was offensive. I have no problem with Seminoles, Braves, or Indians (Indians is probably as far as you can take it though, but they need to get rid of their horrible mascot), but Redskins just sounds bad. Time for them to get in the 21st century. It's like calling themselves the Blackies or Beaners. It just needs to go away.)
Patriots 41 Redskins 23
49er's vs. Saints
I've been dogging the Saints, but they have had a pretty rough schedule. The 49er's have the same record, but it hasn't been nearly as bad of a schedule for them. I look for the Saints to get back in the playoff hunt with a 3rd consecutive win. I'm still not sold on Bush as an every down back, but Brees seems to be improving every week.
Saints 23 49ers 10
Bucanneers vs. Jaguars
The Bucs are probably the biggest surprise in the NFL this year. Say what you want about Garcia, but he seems to know how to win. Jones-Drew is questionable and Garrad is out. Bucs should roll a banged up Jags team.
Bucs 27 Jags 13
Titans vs. Raiders
V. Young returns and Tank Johnson becomes elligible to play. Titans had a fourth quarter meltdown last week, but Bironas was insane. The Raiders are the Raiders and I don't see them winning.
Titans 21 Raiders 7
Browns vs. Rams
Until the Rams can prove to me they aren't one of the worst teams in football, I will refuse to pick them. Maybe if they play Miami.
Browns 26 Rams 12
Bears vs. Lions
Kitna leads a pretty potent offense against a Bears team that can't seem to get back to last years form. The Bears offense is still atrocious. Looks like bad news for the Bears.
Lions 24 Bears 9
Eagles vs. Vikings
While Peterson looks to be the front runner for rookie of the year, he still is the #2 back behind Taylor. Jackson isn't Culpepper by any stretch of the imagination. The Eagles however seem to be in a downward spiral. Can they bounce back from a crushing defeat from a fourth quarter meltdown? This was probably the hardest game to pick.
Vikings 17 Eagles 16
Packers vs Broncos
The Broncos had a nice win over the Steelers last week, but the Packers (the other most surprising team in the NFL) are looking good off of a bye. Farve should have his way against the Broncos defense which is one of the bottom dwellers in points allowed.
Packers 33 Broncos 19

Forgot the Jets game.
Jets vs. Bills
The Bills won a close one last time. The Jets are bad and Mustang is hoping for a high draft pick, so I will give it to him.
Bills 20 Jets 19

I agree with almost all of your picks, except I'm going with the 49ers over the Saints in a close game, and the Jags over the Bucs.

I'll take the Chargers, Jags, Eagles, Broncos and...the Jets...seems fitting that the Jets will start to win when it doesn't matter...

I went 9-3 this week giving me a total of 21-8 so far. Monday night game still has yet to be played, but I'm confident in the Packers.

Damn, I'd have been perfect leading up to tonight's game if I didn't pick the Jets...well at least it was close for a while...

I'll be making my picks in a little bit. I got half way through last night, but hit a favorite tab and lost it all. Got pissed and quit.

As Michael Buffer says, “It’s Time!!!”, for Harms’ picks.
Chargers vs. Vikings
I don’t know if the Texans looked that bad or the Chargers looked that good (I’m going with a little bit of both). It looks like the Chargers finally got their groove back.
Chargers 35 Vikings 13
Panthers vs. Titans
VY seems to be a lot like Dilfer in the Raven’s Super Bowl season which is stay out of the way so his team doesn’t lose. The Panthers look like they will start Carr. I’m going against conventional wisdom and picking the Panthers. They are undefeated on the road.
Panthers 16 Titans 10
Cardinals vs. Bucs
I just can’t seem to pull the trigger on the Cards even with Cadillac out for the season for the Bucs. Look for Garcia to pull out a win.
Bucs 21 Cards 17
Redskins vs. Jets
If you are going to watch this one Mustang, you better start drinking now to make it watchable.
Redskins 31 Jets 14
Jags vs. Saints
The Saints have won 3 in a row. The Jags still don’t have Garrard back and the Saints have one of the best run defenses in the NFL. Look for win number 4 in a row and it will be 5 next week against the Rams too.
Saints 28 Jags 14
49ers vs. Falcons
The Falcons are bad, and by bad I mean they could switch uniforms with the Jets and you couldn’t tell the difference. Smith looks like he is back and the 49ers might actually get an offense again.
49ers 19 Falcons 3
Bengals vs. Bills
The Bills have had to play an absolutely brutal schedule. Thank god they have had to play Jets twice (yeah, I’m bashing the Jets this week). The Bengals have been a massive disappointment. They haven’t hit rock bottom yet. Maybe after this week though.
Bills 23 Bengals 21
Broncos vs. Lions
I like the Lions more and more every week. Kitna, with his array of receivers, seems to be hitting on all cylinders. The Lions are finally making their fans forget Barry Sanders. The Broncos are a mediocore team at best. They have a tendency to play close games. I’m expecting another one.
Lions 28 Broncos 27
Packers vs. Chiefs
If you don’t believe that the Pack are a team of destiny riding on Farve’s magic carpet ride, then you don’t believe in much.
Packers 25 Chiefs 17
Seahawks vs. Browns
It must be nice to be a Browns fan finally. They look like a team that could make the playoffs. They have a high powered offense with no star players. Has anyone noticed that you never hear about the Seahawks? I don’t see the Seahawks defense shutting down the Browns offense.
Browns 37 Seahawks 24
Cowboys vs. Eagles
The Cowboys have looked great all season (other than the Pats game, but the Pats make everyone look bad). The Eagles don’t look like the team that has dominated the NFC East. Cowboys should win this one fairly easy, but it is a NFC east rivalry so you never know.
Cowboys 33 Eagles 10
Ravens vs Steelers
Ravens have zero offense. Big Ben is looking back as his Super Bowl self after the motorcycle accident. I see the Steelers winning big.
Steelers 27 Ravens 10
Texans vs. Raiders
This is the battle of the backup QBs. I'm a Texan fan and the Texans are 2-0 against the Raiders in their brief history. Look for 3-0.
Texans 17 Raiders 16
Patriots vs. Colts
Saved the best for last. I normally pick against the Pats cause I'm a hater. I can't this time. The Pats defense is better than the Colts and that is what it is going to come down to. The Pats are giving 6 1/2 points in this game and they are the road team. If you were betting the line, I'd say give the points and take the Pats.
Patriots 43 Colts 31

I'll take the Titans and Steelers
Since Clemens is starting, I actually want to watch the Jets game...even though they will probably lose...but that's no problem because it's all about the draft...

|
The only picks I take differently, are the Jags, and the Broncos.
Not sure if you are picking the Ravens or the Steelers, but I'm going with Pittsburgh, even though they don't usually play real well against the Ravens, I just can't see the Ravens offense being able to do a whole lot against the defense of the Steelers.
