My Giants WILL NOT make the playoffs!
I guarantee they won't. They're not going to beat Buffalo, and they're definitely not going to beat New England.
This is going to be one of the best choke jobs in NFL history. Had the #1 WIld Card Spot since week 7 pretty much, then choke the last few games away.
Thank You Giants offense for dropping the most passes in the league this year.
And guess what?
This isn't all on Eli either. It's on the Giants receiving core.

LOL.
Well one week later, there's a much clearer pic. The Giants Offense (eli anyway), still sucks, but we proved today that we have 3 runningbacks who are easy 1000 yard rushers if you let them.
38 points, 2 defensive TD's and relentless ground attack.
Jacobs (109 yards today and a TD)
Bradshaw (145 yards today and an 88 yard TD longest run in the NFL this year for a TD)
and Droughns (90 yards today).
The Giants have a wicked run game.
Now if Eli can simply get that rather large log up out of his ass?
We have the recievers.
With Dallas and T.O. hurt, GB looking human today vs. Chicago of all teams?
I'm not in the least bit scared of Seattle or Tampa Bay.
The Playoffs could be very entertaining in the NFC

it still comes down to them being inconsistent. The only thing consistent about their game is Eli Manning guarantee to work for the other team. They could easily lose to all four of those teams. But I don't see them beating Green Bay (I can't find their running defense rank) or the Dallas. I think TO will be healthy by the next game they play, since they already clinched the number one spot and the week after have the bye.

Green Bay's running defense is ranked 15th. They allow an average of 106.9 rushing yards per game. So right now they are middle of the road in rush defense.

I think Coughlin is gonna sit his guys. Alot of injuries to the Giants been nagging them all year, yet the guys play hard enough to get them into the playoffs.
Burress, Jacobs, Pierce, Robbins. All key guys you need to at least get through the first round vs. The Bucs.
Then after the first round? Anything is possible IMO.
I like the G-Men's chances rested vs. The Bucs. They've historically done well vs Tampa even in Tampa, so I think Coughlin should do the right and give his key starters a self induced bye week vs the Patriots in a game that means nothing to either team.

Yeah, it should be an interesting game vs. the Bucs, especially since the Bucs latest performance...who knows, maybe Eli can actually win a playoff game this year…although a potential win would probably be because of the Giants run game, not because of Eli…the Bucs allowing 170 yards passing per game ranks them 2nd or 3rd in the NFL.

Very true. I like what I saw with that Bradshaw kid. Very explosive vs the Bills.
Him and Jacobs? Combined for over 320 yards rushing.
If you can throw a healthy Droughs and Ward in there? Man that's 4 guys that can pound it out if Eli cant get it going.
I really would like to see some old school NYG smashmouth running vs the Bucs.
That's why again, I think they need rest.

Sorry OneTwo. Ok. It means a perfect regular season for the Patriots. BUt I can tell you right now the Giants don't care, I dont think most of us Giants fans care. Good job by the Pats. Right now we need the players rested up for the Bucs.
If that means laying down and just letting the Patriots thump us?
So be it. Cause even if the Giants played the perfect game (which they are capable of doing), they still likely would not beat the Patriots.

I'm a Giants fan, so hey, I think there gonna beat the pats this week and in the superbowl. But that's just my opinion.
The one thing tho, that i realize, is that Eli Manning is not an elite quarterback. He will really have to show somthing in the playoffs this year to earn the ciry of New Yorks respect. (which no one can really do lol).

The Giants dominance back in the mid 80's wasnt on having an Elite QB. It was on defense, clock management (I think some stat showed that the Giants under Parcells had some insane ball possession average time of like 38 minutes a game between 1986-1990).
So basically The Giants back then did it by keeping the ball away from better offenses.
Was Phil Simms a great QB? No. was he horrible? Obviously not.
Lol.
They're nowhere near that today. They're alot more balanced and have so much potential. They're just terribly inconsistent. A NYG team can blow you out 48-10 one week vs an upper tier team, then lose 48-10 vs the worst team in The NFL.
Fortunately for the Giants, they have an incredible road record (perfect) this year. And that's why they are where they are.
Which leaves me scratching my head. Is Giants Stadium THAT hard to play in? I know all about the swirling winds stuff. But is it that hard?
The question to me is what is Eli going to be? A Phil Simms? A Kerry Collins who can be spectacular enough in one or two season to get to the big game?
Or is Eli, just gonna be.....
Eli?

I agree 100% Our main concern is getting ready for the Bucs, 12 teams had 15 chances to beat the Pats , it is not our concern they couldn't get it done. This is a meaningless game for us and in the NFC who knows maybe we can make the Super bowl so that is what the Giants focus should be!

Well the Giants record on the road is very good, but not perfect after the week 1 loss at Dallas. Every time there is a game at Giants stadium they note how the swirling winds are so devastating. Not only that, the Giants fans make it very hard for Eli to get a rhythm going…if he screws up for a couple of drives, Eli will hear it… and that, for sure, will not make him feel too good. He might press harder in an attempt to get the crowd off his back, consequently throwing more incompletions and interceptions…I suppose it’s a good thing that the Giants will have all road games in the playoffs, because that is where they have a shot.
Relating to the 1st paragraph, you are really describing a lot of teams with losing records. Usually teams with losing records lost to teams they should have beat and find a way to get at least 1 upset. (I.E. the Jets this year)
The Giants this season really have done a good job beating the teams they should beat, but they couldn't beat the teams with records above .500 That is a major issue running into the playoffs when teams generally have winning records. However, the Bucs lackluster performance this past week must make the Giants and Giants fans feel pretty good, but I wouldn't expect the Giants to make a run deep into the playoffs…that is if they get by Tampa Bay.
