Default A-Rod makes more than Marlins

A-Rod could pay Marlins' salaries, still have $6 million left - Big League ... - MLB - Yahoo! Sports

I don't know what's more sad. The fact that Arod makes that much or that Loria is paying his professional baseball team so poorly.

A-Rod is the best baseball player in baseball.

It's worth it.

And didnt you watch Major League? Some team owners dont want to win. I think that's why the Marlins fired Joe Girardi. He was taking the team in the winning direction.

BTW, Arod makes 29 million a year, this is true indeed. But also pays 12.43 million dollars of that in taxes.

Yep, he is worth every penny for all those championships he won for the Yankees. Alex Rodriguez is the Charles Barkley of baseball. Really good, but will never win a championship. In fact, the Red Sox have won two since A-rod has been on the Yankees. Funny stuff.

Maybe, Maybe not. He's still young.

The Marlins don't spend money because no fans go to the games there. Even a few years ago when they had their World Series run their attendance wasn't that great.

I'm gonna go out on a limb right now today April 4th, 2008 and say the Yankees will go all the way this year.

I dont know why. They just have that weird silence about them so far. Those are the years they tend to do great things.

Is that really going out on a limb? I hear this every year from Yankee fans.

One in particular - "I see it in their eyes - it's different this year..." I tell him, "you said that last year about the fire in their eyes. At least gimme something different"

Of course I can give you $200+ million reasons they should win every year but it's not that simple.

I always say until you get rid of the jinx Mussina, it's just not gonna happen. Maybe if you do that you can bring a championship to fake Yankee stadium. As a baseball fan, it's still strange to hear that Yankee Stadium will be no more.

Trust me, having been born in Brooklyn and remembering my dad taking me to at least 12 Yankee Games in the late 70's? It's kinda sad this year. I was like 6 and maybe didnt appreciate it like I should have, but looking back, I still remember the place, how it smelled, etc, and that it was a special place.

Yes, Yankee stadium will be missed indeed.

All the more reason to go out with a Championship year!

And as for Mussina being a jinx?

You know I'm not one to go that far, but to play along one statistic (or performances I should say stand out).

Mussina has had 3 almost Perfect Games in his career. 1 vs Toronto, 1 vs TB I think and 1 vs Boston.

In each one of his "almost" perfect games, he was at the bottom of the 9th, with a no balls 2 strikes count and then

BLAM

a hit.

So not only did he not get the Perfect game, he also F'd up a no hitter.

That's freakin jinxed IMO. How the hell do you go 26 up, 26 down only to f it up with only 1 more strike left each of the 3 times you almost did it?

Mussina must hate Carl Everett...I remember that one.

The new stadium's gonna be pretty sweet though. That friend of mine called me today and said he went to the game last night and was checking out the new digs...from across the way.
