well if scholes went out now we'd have to move giggs central and put park or richardson on the left. giggs has performed well in that position before. not so sure about mcgeady, i'd have to see more fromhim to be able to make a judgement, but i'll look out for him.

I predict a 2-0 win tomorrow against Newcastle with Baptista and Henry providing the goals.

You mean today.

But I'm looking forward to seeing Baps in action too. We need him now that Gilberto's out.

Well, the usual Arsenal outing. Early goal against, fight back with everything: missing the post, hitting the post, and then 90 mins is up and we have a draw. Quite frustrating.

Yeah, this is rough.

Given played well, but that's no excuse. If we don't get the opening goal, we're in trouble. And our (poor) opponents seem to score every time they attack.

It's not like I was expecting the league-title this season, but it sucks ass to be out of the race in November already.
Success in the cup-competitions, no title for MU, and I'll be relatively happy.

*sigh

Hopefully GSP will cheer me up tomoz.

Gallas is injured now! Well at least we have cover at CB. I don't know if Wenger will pick Djourou or Senderos for the Champions League tomorrow.

arsenal should definitely win, lille and benfica also. real probably will but i wouldn't bet on it. the rest are pretty tight though. i'm fairly confident of us topping the group after tomorrow night, loving the hype for the 'battle of britain', lol

best possible outcome celtic wins and benfica and Copenhagen draw, celtic have 9 points copenhagen and benfica have only 5 points, celtic qualify.

even if we draw vs man u then celtic have 7 points, the winner of benfica vs copenhagen has 7 also, meaning celtic have to win or draw against cpenhagen and man u need to do us a favour and beat benfica. Copehagen win tonight all we need to do is draw against them in the last match to got through providing we dont lose tonight.

this part of the draw is always complicated. alex ferguson wants celtic to go through also, he has his eyes on chelsea so we may get a weaker team thankfully.

We HAVE TO beat HSV tonight. I hope we get the opening goal quickly.

The last match is away at Porto. Aargh, I can't take it, if we don't make it through the group stage now. The league-season is already pretty much ruined.

And now Arsenal are 1-0 down inside 4 minutes, sigh. At least the goal we conceded was brilliant I guess. Come on!

Edit: Thank you for that comeback, 3-1 Arsenal in the end. Celtic beat Man U 1-0.

Jesus, I was worried too, but...

What an AWESOME 10 minutes right there at the end of the matches!!!
I was simultaneously watching Arsenal's (stream) and ManU's matches (TV).
-First, Eboue takes us in the lead.
-Then Nakamura takes Celtic in the lead.
-Saha messes up a great chance. Probably cos he thought he was offside.
-Walcott sets up Baptista for our third.
-ManU get a lucky penalty, BUT the keeper saves Saha's shot.

Arsenal-HSV 3-1
Celtic-ManU 1-0

im so delighted, strachans tactics where spot on and he outclassed the master tactician.

i cant belive the refferee this evening he was so pro man utd it wasnt even funny, a penalty for nothing and so many fouls for nothing.

cant belive the conflicting news either. ITV had celtic 2nd in the group, SKY 1 had celtic 1st and Sky News had celtic in the knockout stages.

we are looking at celtic having to win if benfica win or otherwise a draw is good enough. they can actually loose and still go through if man utd win.

Hail Hail the celts are here.

P.S told you so.

The victory moved Celtic into the knockout stages, top of Group F and level on nine points with United, who face a final home game against Benfica (on seven points) while the Bhoys travel to Copenhagen.
So, if MU beats Benfica, Celtic would come second in the group even if they'd lose.
If Benfica beats MU, again Celtic would be second even with a loss.
If MU and Benfica draw, same thing.

what about this scenario.

benfica beat man u 1 -0

copenhagen beat celtic 5 - 0

group looks like this

Benfica 10 points
Man utd 9 points
celtic 9 points.

comes down to goal difference and man utds is better

good win for you, but we outplayed you, dominated the whole of the first half, saha missed a one on one because he thougt he was offside, and we missed a penalty. and the penalty was legit! how could you not see the ball strike your players hand? the kick was on target and was impeded by an arm! and i can't believe you thought the ref was pro man utd, the goal you got came from a wrong decision! vidic put in a perfectly good challenge. having said that, nakamura's kick was one of the best i've ever seen, if we were beat by any goal i'm at least glad itwas from something particularly special and unstopable like that (even though it should'nt have been given)
