Jari Litmanen is the greatest so far surely. He's won the Champs League (and been the top scorer), and was voted third best in the world (behind Rivaldo and someone else).
Would love it, if we made it to the next Euro with the Mighty Mullet(we've never had as good a chance as now). We've NEVER been to a Euro or World Cup, can you believe that. Whereas Sweden gets there every time.
Our most "famous" players at the mo' would be Niemi, Jaaskelainen, Hyypia, Tainio, Vayrynen and Forssell. A decent starting line-up,not much talent behind it.

i feel your pain, half of the scotland team are playing in the premiership in england and scotland.
fletcher, mcfadden, naismith, weir, webster, dickov, teale and mcculloch all play in englands top division.
players like caldwell, maloney, boyd, burke, mcmanus, riordan, ferguson and wilson all play with scotlands top 2 teams.
we have been in euro championships and world cups but have never got through the group stages.
football in scotland is IMPROVING tho, the national team is top of the group with italy and france in it, beating france a few months ago.
Celtic have just qualified for the last 16 in the champions league a massive achivement for a team costing ~£17million, we got to the uefa cup final a few years ago to and lost to a cheating porto.
rangers have qualified through the group stages of the UEFA cup and got through to the last 16 in the CL a few years ago to.
Celtic won the european cup in 1967 so woul dbe great for celtic and scottish football if we could do something similar.
i think alot of people south of the border dont give scottish football the credit it deserves or any respect.
hopefully that will change as i belive if celtic were in the english premiership we would be top 5 in our first few seasons and after the financial benefits come into it celtic would seriously contend for the title.

i agree with you that scottish football is improving, and i think you will do much better this time round than you have for some time in euro. as far as clubs go it also looks promising. having an impact on europe will help greatly, especially in terms of the scottish league gaining respect.
however i think your being optimistic on finishing top 5 in the english premiership if celtic played in it. i'd say definitely top ten, but with clubs like portsmouth, villa, everton and bolton steadily improving, i believe celtic would be pushed towards the lower end of it.
cannot wait for the game tomorrow though, gonna be an amazing atmosphere!

teams like bolton and portsmouth have more money than celtic, once celtic gained more finance i reckon they would live with the big boys. celtic are ranked 21 best side in europe and aparently the 3rd largest club in the world. personally i didnt think that was the case but in fanbase celtic are MASSIVE.
we have a cracking stadium and the best fans in europe, with financial backing celtic would be a major force.
have you ever seen the other man utd? how are they doing?

Damn, Saha took MU to the lead. 1-0 at HT.
I hate seeing SAF and Rooney etc. celebrating.
More than I hate seeing Terry&Co doing it.
Chelsea look crap. They didn't create chances in the first half. And Giggs messed up a good chance.
Come on, you Chelski scum.

a lot of teams could with more financial backing. and in order to gain finance celtic would have to do well in the premiership and they wouldn't to begin with. 3rd largest club?! where did you get that from, because if it's true thats incredible! you do have a great stadium and great support.
if your referring to fc united, who claim to be the 'real fans' but turned their backs on the club just because glazer took over, then no i would never go to see them. nobody wanted glazer to takeover man u but thats no reason to form and support another club. i'd say they were never real fans. however for a recently formed team they are doing well and have the second-highest attendance anywhere in non-league football.
what made you bring that up?
our game with chelsea was a great contest, us getting the better of 1st half and them the 2nd, and saha's goal was amazing and typical of what he can produce.

Happy with a draw there. I don't want MU to win the league.
I don't want Chelsea to either, but it's a lesser evil for me.
And as much as I dislike Cashley, I do love seeing him put Cronaldo in his pocket. That yellow card was rubbish btw, Cronny basically stamped on Cashley, and twisted his own ankle or something.

i wasnt sat at that end so i'll have to watch MOTD2 to comment properly on whether or not it was a foul. putting ronaldo in his pocket? not what i saw, ronaldo beat him a number of times - once right in front of me. you might not want us to win the title but prepare yourself for it, i've got a good feeling. i would say that i don't want arsenal to win it but theres not much danger of that happening is there.

There's no danger of MU winning it either, so doesn't matter.
Had they won, there would have been a tiny chance.
One on one, Cole is too tough for Ronny.

1-1 as I predicted, I didn't want to see either team win it so a draw will do.
Some midweek games to look forward to this week as well in the Premiership.

i heard a few years back it was Man united, Santos and Celtic who were top 3 in terms of support, real and Ac milan were 4th and 5th, find that hard to understand but celtic have a massive, North American support, European and asian following. il see if i can find some proof as it might just be hearsay.
a custoemr mentioned fc united the other night, says he now supports them as he doesnt think that the glazers are interested in the club and are just in it for money. personally id follow celtic through thick and thin and would never turn my back on it.

I found this cool (but frustrating game) where you can be any striker in the EPL and try to score as much as possible (more points for a volley). If you give it a go, let me know your high score please.

I'm looking forward to the midweek games... the more football the better!
