Post New Ortiz, Same Result as Liddell Stops ?The Huntington Beach Bad Boy?

Courtesy of UFC.COM :

LAS VEGAS, December 30 – Tito Ortiz came to fight tonight, and as he admitted afterwards, he brought his ‘A’ game. But when you’re facing the best light heavyweight on the planet, sometimes that’s just not enough, as Chuck Liddell defended his UFC crown for the fourth time with a third round TKO of Ortiz before a sell-out crowd of 14,607 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in their long-awaited rematch.

Good article and an excellent point about Tito making the mistake of getting into a slugfest with Liddell.

At the end of round three Tito got hit hard and if you watch in slow motion, Tito counters with a good right with a pissed off look on his face. Then started exchanging with The Iceman BIG BIG mistake! The rest of course was history.

Tito i think fell victim to anger. It was obvious at the end of round 3 he was POd at that last landed blow by Chuck and Tito looked like he did vs. Frank Shamrock when he threw wild trying to counter Frank. That fight as well as we all know ended badly for Tito.

He's simply not a good counter-puncher.

when tito was standing there exchanging i kept saying move, get out. but he stood there and i knew it was over after that.
i'm glad that others know that is why he lost.
i really think if he got out of there he would have won.
