Thomas Gerbasi, UFC - A month into season five of The Ultimate Fighter reality show, one thing has been made abundantly clear - Gabe Ruediger is probably the one fighter that comes up in water cooler conversation on Friday mornings. So whether it's his adventures in weight loss, his verbal battles with members of the opposing team (as well as his own), or his penchant for always being in the middle of the action, the 29-year old Californian has become this season's Chris Leben - the lightning rod for controversy and attention.

I really don't like this guy at all. I dunno if he's fought yet, but I hope he gets KO'd.
Favorite Fighters (in no order): Fedor, Babalu, Randy Couture, Matt Hughes, Nick Diaz, Nate Diaz, Jeff Monson, Drew McFederies, Quinton Jackson, Georges St. Pierre and Paulo Filho.
Chicago Cubs: NL Central Champs!
Well he is fighting Corey Hill this week and even though Corey is very raw the kid is intense and could very well KO Gabe. The previews also implied that Gabe had to lose 22 or 23 pds to make weight so there may not even be a fight and Gabe just gets DQ-ed which would suck.
I was singing his praises going into the Guillard fight, based on everything I've read. Articles and people on the UG were saying what a monster Gabe is, and he was WEC lightweight champ with a 10-2 record, so he's not exactly a nobody. Insiders were all like, "Look for the upset against Melvin, because Guillard has no idea what he's in for." And then Melvin punched Gabe in the tummy and it was game over.
Looking at his record on Fight Finder I now have to ask: who has he beaten? He's lost to some name dudes like Melvin and Hermes Franca, and maybe he's gotten this far by winning against inferior talent.
I will say, though, that his behaviour on TUF5 has been a big disappointment. He posted to the UG recently to say that they shouldn't buy into what they see on the show and it's all editing. Andy Wang and one other Team Penn fighter (I forget who) came on to call shenanigans, saying that what we're seeing on the show is 100% the way Gabe was. They outed him as coming in fat, not putting in enough effort, causing trouble on the team, and generally being a pain in everyone's ass who refused to accept responsibility when faced with consequences.
