Nice ending, Leben vs Martin
Just finished watching Wensday's FightNight. And I got to say what a nice ending for the Chris Leben vs Terry Martin Martin fight. It started out in the first round looking like it could go ither way with Martin scoring quiet a bit of points with the take downs and Leben using alot of knees and leg kicks to torture Martins legs. Then it really looked like Leben was behind in points when he grabed the fence when Martin held him, up followed by a take down.
The second round was pretty good with Leben using some foot stops and more kicks. With the boxing in here and there. Martin also having to take the fight to the ground because he was some what losing the stand up.
But in the third round it was starting to look like it was going to be all over for Leben, and then it was all over for Leben Martin landed a few nice hits which knocked Leben back, then Leben started advancing taking several hits and connecting accouple of light punches then landed a hard upper cut on Martin knocking him to the ground then Leben falling after him with a ground and pound styled punch. Getting him the KO
But I gatta say, who here though Leben was going to get KOed right there? Cuz it sure seemed like it. His eyes looked pretty funny when he stood up, like omfg I just knocked him out. Then he slowly raises his arms.
Btw I had to go pick up my friend, and i miss the Pete Sell vs Nate Quarry fight. Anyone mind filling me in on what happened?

This shouldn't be in here. It should be in the UFC Results forum. Should have at least put a spoiler warning on it.

Good god. The thread title is ambiguous enough that it does not spoil the fight results. And if someone actually clicks on a thread titled "Nice ending, Leben vs Martin" they deserve to get the fight spoiled. Use common sense people.
The fight certainly had a climactic ending. I thought Terry was gonna finish him and out of nowhere Leban throws that bomb. Kind of reminded me of the Scott Smith/Drago Sell ending.

Ah, I see. When I tried to move it, it said it was already in the results section but when I looked up at the location path, it said it was in the UFC section...
I must have tried as you were moving it.

Well, Chris Leben has never looked like he did. It simply was another person. Even he would say so.

I agree; he has always had an iron jaw (except against Silva, but who does?), he just seemed to fight much smarter last night.....

Not only smarter. The guy was way faster, leaner and did not gas out. Same old Leben no way. A completely different fighter. He only pushed forth recklessly at the end of the fight to ko Martin. In the past, he started the fights doing just that, and he was the one getting ko'ed.

That was a completely different Chris Leben last night. I paced himself. Exactly opposite of what he used to do.

I also picked Leben to win too, but near the end there I was thinking that he lost it unless if he could pull off a KO, which he did.

Well, he used to gas out in the third minute of the first round. In this one he gassed out in the third round and ko'ed Martin in the meantime.
Very impressive. This Leben reminds more of the guy who fought Doerksen years back.
