him coming out as a lefty did help his standup though
I don't think coming out as a lefty in the fight made any difference in his stand up. He obviously wanted to confuse GSP and wanted to go for a take down. I think that is why he went out as a lefty. But as for his stand up, he didn't do anything that helped his stand up at all.

Ah, you are right. That other song was from a different event. I thought it sounded different. But, I did not especially listen during the PPV. Good call, giguer.

I just watched the post fight interview and hughes said something about possibly having a GSP/Hughes 4 someday after he works his way back up...
What do you guys think? I think he should retire after fighting one more fight with Serra.

Lol,me neither and i'm a big Hughes fan. He definitely should retire now. I'll admit that George has too much for him to ever be at the top again.
Well done GSP.

Matty bein a Lefty
Actually MH fighting lefty was an attempt to make a single leg easier. Its pretty common to do this if someone has a good/great TD defence. In fact it is taught very early on in wrestling. It puts your dominate arm on their weaker leg. Than you "roll" towards their pelvic region while lifting and pulling back just above their knee on the left leg. If needed you can sweep the back leg with your free hand. Puts you, when done correctly, in either side control or right leg trapped in guard.

Man Hughes is pretty rough in his post fight interview. I hope he doesn't come right back though. I think some time off where he doesn't have to worry about his next fight would do him alot of good at this point in his carreer. Maybe comeback in a year or something after some rest and relaxation.
