Tim is just long. He has no skill.
Tonight was proof.
Who the hell gets choked out in basic side transition? That's white belt 9 year old stuff.
When you're THAT tall?
It shows it's ONLY because you're tall why you're where you're at.
Technique before physics. Lesnar learned that too.

How can you even say that Tim has no skill???? And how was tonight proof of that? Because he lost to Nog??? It's not like Nog's a bad fighter or anything........ Also, what does being tall have to do with being choked out like that?? Tim Sylvia has beaten people taller than him, so he obviously has some skill.... All I can say is that I hope you were drunk when you typed this.

Nicely said about Tim. Though, I was surprised by his out striking Nog...given Nog's prior hand displays. I've thought, for a long time, that if Tim were of average height, that he'd be just another mediocre fighter. However, Lesnar's going to get better...and he's got the tools to be dominant. This fight and Brock Lessnar reminds me very much of Hughes vs. GSP I, and GSP. GSP had all the tools was winning the round and a rookie mistake cost him the fight. Same thing here tonight. Though, I think Lessnars going to have to lose some of the bulk for those long drawn out matches.

War Nog! Tim's standup looked a lil better than I expected, but you can't avoid Nog's strengths for that long.

Man that sweep was a form of art. I was telling all my friends (new to MMA) this fight was over the second it hit the ground.

Nog does it AGAIN!
****ing awesome.
Dropped, takes punishment, trouble getting the takedown... then pulls guard and submits the big bully in the third. YES!!!!
Thank God, Sylvia didn't get the belt back.
What's that, Brock? The HW division is starving for a champion?
Nah, we've got Nog goddamnit (and you got shut down ).
I love it!

Actually no it didnt have anything to do w/ who won the fight, just that points did not turn out to be the reason which made the deduction irrelevant. The same point would have applied if Lesnar finished him b/c anything concerning the points would not have mattered. I agree that there should not have been a point deduction but the stand-up was justified b/c it appeared the illegal hit had done enough damage to cause the fight to be won as a result of it.....

I was thinking the same thing even though GSP was much further ahead in MMA than Lesnar. I believe Lesnar will be fine in the UFC, he just has alot to learn through experience. It is still way too early to tell but he could possible contend for a title 2-3 years down the road.....

I'm happy for Nog. He deserves to be the champion.
It's good for the UFC to have a new belt holder and big Nog is a hard working well respected guy.
Tim started out so good. Landing shots and stuffing the take downs. He will be back.

YES YES YES Without a doubt, big NOG should be ranked#2 now. If the Randy huggers wanna give him the spot, let him prove it.

honestly minutes after nog won and asked a friend who was over my house who also posts on FF if he thinks ryduce will update the sig...
Also I had my 6 or 7 friends over watching the PPV last night... As Nog was lossing everyone was getting kinda bummed so i was like "Well nog took a much bigger beatdown from Cro Cop and came back to sub him in what looked to be a lost cause... i just dont think you can count on that" as i finished my sentence Nog pulled half guard and swept... went for the arm bar and then got the guil. my friends were all joking saying "now what were you just talking about?"

With all due respect to Randy Couture, I am going to say that Big Nog is now ranked number one. Nog has the title. Nog and Couture both beat Sylvia. So, they are at least equals on who they beat to become champions. Couture beat Napao. So, if Nog beats Werdum or Mir, then Nog will be at the very least the equal to Couture, if not definitely better ranked.
And yes, I even rank Big Nog over Fedor Emelianenko. Nog has done what nobody else has ever done (to my knowledge). Nog has won both the PRIDE Fighting HW title and the UFC HW title. Has Fedor done that? Has Couture? Has Mir? Has Sylvia? Nope, none of them have done that. This, IMO, puts Big Nog up on a new level.

All Ryduce needs to do is add a line of text to his signature that says "Current UFC World Heavyweight Champion" right under the line about the PRIDE HW title. And, LOL, I have to admit that I was in a bit of dispair for Nog when it looked like Sylvia was going to win by using his patented "death from a 1000 jabs to the face" technique. And, Nog was nearly beaten several times. But, I will never count out Big Nog again. I kept quietly hoping, during round one and two, that Nog would pull a miracle out of his bum. I never really thought that he could. I just did not want Sylvia to win. I wanted a Nog HW championship title run in the UFC. So, I guess Big Nog could feel all of our positive waves, LOL.
