I really hope Silva will move up in weight....At this point no one in the MW division can beat him.

I agree....Maybe a rematch with Okami to sort that all out & then move up to LHW, since there is absolutely no one currently under UFC contract, below that weight who is going to beat him.
I am a big GSP fan....but dude....anyone who is thinking that GSP might move up to challenge him is completely kidding themselves. NO way in hell that he's got a chance. I would honestly like to see GSP sit tight and dominate the WW division for a good 6-8 fights before even allowing him to think about it. Just given the way the he was eating punches/jabs against Penn...coupled with fact that bigger dudes, like Franklin, Marquardt and Henderson aren't able to muscle Silva around just does not bode well at all for Georges. He's not going to be able to bully Silva & I'm willing to bet that Silva's punching power & speed is better than Penn's. So........

I just don't see anyone 185 or smaller who is going to pose a serious threat to Silva right now. I for one at this point, would be very interested in seeing how Silva handles the bigger dudes. I sure that an obligatory rematch against Okami is next up....but after that, I'd love to see how he works against some of the LHW names, like an Alexander, Sokoudjou, Gouveia, etc....
Silva vs Machida would be a very interesting match up at this point in time, IMO.

I give Silva all the credit in the world, but I'm really disappointed that Henderson lost... I wasn't even worried about the fact that I had $10 riding on Henderson, I just wanted him to win - my consolation prize was being allowed to snag one of the UFC 82 event posters from the pub I was in.

The man is an MMA king. I agree with all the posters stating no one in the MW division posses a threat.

I also agree that GSP is the only one I can imagine in the future and it is also my opinion that i would like to see GSP dominate in the WW division before it is even considered.

Also, seeing Silva at 205 would be a show of absolute power when/if it happens. I too would like to see how he handles larger fighters. I am imagining a lot of accurate striking and a quick sub.

Props to Silva, but my heart goes out to Hendo. Just by watching him on interviews and such I get the feeling he is good people at his heart. I feel bad, he dominated in Pride. UFC brings him to the octogon pretty much strips both belts from his waist and now he has nothing but a wee bit o pride and his ranch. I really hope Hendo makes a big come back.

i wouldnt feel sorry for dan, this is what he wanted he had belts and the two UFC belt holders are two of the best fighters in the world and well rounded opponents

he will be fine, he faced two very refined fighters in title fights

Silva did it last night. Now GSP has to do it with Serra. And that should be next for both these guys. Anderson even hinted at it by saying that he might move DOWN in weight. So that's that.

Best mma fight ever: GSP-Anderson Silva

I could go for a GSP/Silva match-up.

In reality Silva basically TKO'ed Hendo in the stand-up, and I will explain myself: when Hendo went down in the 2nd round, it was after he took a few hard hits that gave him a disadvantageous position on the ground. Silva saw that and patiently kept punishing Hendo to finally take his back and submit him.

Despite general consensus of Hendo being a bad match-up for Silva, this was the logical way for the fight to develop considering these two fighters' styles. It was clear to me that Hendo's pride would make him trade with Silva sooner or later. In the first round he followed his game plan and immediately clinched. But in the second he tested his stand-up, and it was lights out for him very, very fast. Even Leben took more punches before he went down.

In the post-fight interview I don't think Dan gives Silva the recognition he deserves. He says that he made mistakes, which he did. But Silva took advantage of the tiny window of opportunity he had in the second round, and finished the fight.

Silva epitomizes mma fighting. The UFC and the fans should enjoy him right now, as others as good as him are impossible to come across right now.

Silva is simply the best in the Middleweight Division period! He's going to be holding that belt for a long long time.

Whoa I just watched Silva's pot fight interview on UFC.com and he said he doesn't want to move up in weight, but he said "Who knows, maybe I'll move down"
