Gsp is one of my best fighters. Id much rather like to see Silva vs Shogun Rua and then il have to pick Shogun. both their styles match up perfectly and besides every fight is different. Also in my miind i still think Rampage would beat Silva. Every fighter is beatable and Rampage would find a way. Who besides thought he would take out Liddell in the first round? But we will see how it is gonna shape up.
I don't see Silva losing to Page or to GSP.
IMO, Silva has a better standup and ground game than Page.
GSP has a better ground game, but Silva has a better standup and I don't see GSP winning except for a LnP decision.

However, those thoughts are dwarfed by the fact that neither of these fights are going to happen unless one of the three lose their next match and change weight class.

There is no way that the UFC is going to have two belt holders fight. I'm not even certain I would want to see it happen. It's not logical to have one person hold two belts. The title defenses would be too sparse.

Actually, a catch weight fight where no belts on the line is a real possibility b/c it could be billed as a Super-fight sort of event.....

ya exactly something like the open weight grand prix of pride would be cool in the ufc. but the fact is that Anderson Silva needs some legit challengers and there is none left for him to prove himself. so do u want to see silly one sided meaningless fights? or a challenge? and the only logical thing to do is move up.

I think that Silva would dispatch GSP fairly easily. He has better striking, and Hendo has better wrestling than GSP and look what that got him. Page is another story though. Silva is too small to clinch with 'Page. Quinton would pick him up and dribble him like a basketball. He would be able to control the distance with his striking but eventually Rampage would close the gap, pick him up, and throw him across the cage.

It doesnt have to be a title oriented match to have meaning to me. If GSP claens out the WW division and has no real challenge the way Silva has at MW and they want to make have them to meet at a catch weight to present both of them w/ a new challenge I believe there would be much interest.

As the #1 GSP fan in the world I can see him getting knocked out but I also believe he has the skill set to give Silva problems b/c I am not so sure Hendo is a better wrestler than GSP (I used to assume that though).

AHHH thats why ur so into the whole notion of a GSP/ SIlva match up. make sense now. thats understandable and would be entertaining to watch. AND if they were to fight...my heart would be with GSP but my money would be on Silva.

I agree; I like both of these guys but I kinda jumped on the Silva bandwagon where as I liked GSP from the beginning. I would be pulling for GSP but I just dont see how he could avoid getting knocked out. GSP is great at getting guys down and keeping there doing damage but Silva is so much stronger than he looks and I just dont feel that GSP would be able to hold him down long enough to keep from getting knocked out.....
