Herring on Countdown "there is no secret with this guy, take him down...."
Herring post fight "I didn't train at all on the ground for this"

So he fights for his opponentswants him to

Yeah...he was doing that chest thumping from the locker room up to the bell, something about it seems so obnoxious.

well i mean its not cuz he necessarily thinks hes better than kongo striking

hes been very consistent in admitting he wants to swang and bang for the crowd for better or for worse

and besides, heaths natural wrestling ability was probably factored enough to be better than an ground offense kongo had to offer

im thinking kongo's plan was to take him down and pound him out not necessarily strike with heath standing....i dont think heaths first punch took him out of his gameplan

Excellent fight - in my opinion, it should be fight of the night. How long has it been since we saw a rapid-paced Heavyweight fight that went all 3 rounds and was never really boring (Kongo standing at Herring's feet for 12 seconds before the ref stepped in doesn't count).
I thought the same thing when I saw that Silva/Henderson was FOTN.

Kongo impressed the hell out of me tonight. He's learned a ton from working with Rampage and his camp.

I was actually rooting for Kongo and thought that he would be a tough matchup for Big Nog. However, now we're more likely to see Kongo/Lesnar. Two massive guys with heavy hands. It would be a war!

Good matchup stylistically for Herring - I'm glad he didn't disappoint.

Hooking up with that nutritionist and changing his lifestyle in that regard could work out pretty well for him. So far, so good.

Lesnar will meet Coleman.
I don`t think he would be that though for Nog but I will like to see him fighting Mir. To put Heat up for the title would be strange since he allreaddy faild 3 times against Nog now

Really hoping for Kongo/Sylvia next. They seem to have some legit beef going and I would LOVE to see Big Tim getting his clock cleaned

A little late but here's take on the fight

1. Kongo showed a much MUCH improved ground game. That one takedown by him was awesome. (You guys know which one I'm talking about.)

2. Cecil People should be fired.

3. Herring did an excellent job at keeping busy on the ground. I was worried a few times that he would accidently knee Kongo in the head and get a point deducted. More fighters should use knees on the ground.

I really used to like Kongo before he made those allegations about Mirko using steroids. I was happy to see him lose.

Overall exciting fight 8/10
