just reaffirms my position that Fitch isnt this great welterweight savior everyone thinks he is...Denny Green is about to burst a blood vessel all over again

I guess by that way of thinking GSP isn't any good due to the way Serra dismantled him. I also thought Fitch looked alittle flat. But thay all have those type fights. WarDawg

well no thats two questionable decisions in my opinion
i dont know what GSP v Matt Serra has to do with anything
Its not a matter of Fitch looking "flat", i think its a matter of me thinking that Fitch shouldnt have won that decision i dont care if it was his worst day ever
i didnt see fitch do anythign in that fight to really warrant a unanimous decision, much less a victory (other than rocking wilson once)
but whatever, fitch is god and i am a ****in derelict heathen i guess

Fitch was getting tooled, I mean totally handled, in the standup war, but Wilson just didn't do enough in the final round to convince the judges. Also, Fitch is lucky the clock ran down when he was stuck in that triangle, that mofo was only getting deeper. I don't think it was UD material.

I'll agree that Fitch wasn't completely dominant in that fight, but he deserves no discredit - Wilson turned out to be a tougher opponent for him than a lot of people thought. It's not Fitch's fault that he has all this hype surrounding him; all he does is go out there and win matches - the fans are the ones praising him as the next big threat to the title, not Fitch. Fitch doesn't run around saying "**** yeah, Jon Fitch is the next Welterweight champion and I'm gonna curb stomp anybody within round one who gets in the way of my title shot!".

I didn't think the triangle was tight. A tight triangle will put you to sleep in 5 seconds. Wilson never tried to get control of Fitch's arm. Fitch posted the arm out to protect is carotid artery . Fitch was very safe at that moment anyhow. I wondered why didn't Wilson grab the arm and why Fitch didn't stack the triangle and or slam him . Maybe they both knew the round was over basically and Fitch was good on riding it out as he done ??.. WarDawg

I have to agree, fitch was getting tooled. And yes had there been more time Fitch would have went Night Night due to triangle choke. Save by the bell. Fitch didn't look like he planned on finishing this fight at all. I admit I have seen better fights out of Fitch, he just fought like he didn't want to be there at all.

It didn't start out tight, but it was progressively getting deeper. Maybe you're right, possibly they both just kinda rode out the round?

I thought Fitch won a tight one.
Perhaps Wilson just isn't as bad as you think. He was prepared and ready for battle.
Too bad Karo didn't man up and fight Fitch - then we wouldn't be hearing so much about the whole Karo/Fitch thing.

I think Fitch won the fight 29-28, and Fitch's ability to survive chokes is sick every fight I've seen him in he gets locked in a deep choke and survives it.

No, you didn't say he was bad. I'm just saying that maybe people (not necessarily you) expected Fitch to roll over him...thus underestimating him. It could be less about Fitch and more about Wilson.
Either way, (I don't know his contract status but) Wilson probably earned himself another fight and Fitch extended his streak.

I think Fitch won 29-28, but it was far from a dominating performance. The triangle that Wilson had him in didn't look that deep to me. I could be wrong but it looked as if Fitch had his left hand in there and didn't seem to be in too much trouble.

It wasn't deep . As long as Fitch had his trapped arm posted out like that he was not going to go to sleep. Wilson would have had to pull the arm across to block the blood flow to the brain. I do believe BOTH knew the round was about over and just didn't sweat it... IMO WarDawg

Very good, straight to the point! It has been hard to say anything good about Karo without 2 pages Karo is crap, and ILOVE FITCH. Well, well he was the trend setter of the night, which kept everybody talking, and using the bathroom. I'm not a hater either, but damn!

Well, the fight was awful. Rogan and Goldberg were talking about their gandmas. However, let's be fair here, Fitch won that fight and an argument for 30-27 can be made. Aside from the first minute and a half of the first round and the last 30 seconds of the third, Fitch dominated.
That said, yeah, he did not look like someone who would pose a threat to the likes of GSP or even Matt Hughes.
